December 2023The venue is absolutely stunning with the river to the front and side of the venue. The water wheel is a fabulous piece of history. The building is absolutely beautiful. The interior is sympathetic to the appearance of the whole venue. The food is exquisite. The afternoon tea is fabulous. We were advised by a very experienced chef the meal contents and the fruit had been freshly taken from the venues fruit garden. The venue is immaculate, exceptionally clean, and the prices are more than affordable. The staff are outstanding well groomed and courteous. February 2024We had a pleasant experience overnight here. Cottage room was clean , warm and quite cosy ! Only complaint I have was the bed width was not very wide for 2 people and the mattress could be of better quality. Apart from that we had everything we needed in the Cottage and a gorgeous view of the River. Food was very good in the Restaurant and the service was first class. Lots of choice for Breakfast and a lovely Breakfast Room environment . Thank you.

February 2024We use this hotel for stay and fly when flying out of East midlands airport. We book a nice room overnight, evening meal and breakfast if we have time. Then we get taken to the airport by taxi. On return we are collected by taxi and driven back to the hotel to pick up the car. This is an excellent service arranged by the hotel. The last time we arrived back our taxi driver was waiting at the Arrow desk ready to take us back. Now that's service. No making phone calls no hanging around in the cold or rain. The hotel staff are always friendly and obliging. And the food is wholesome and plenty full. Rooms are clean and beds comfy.

March 2024Disappointing. The venue is very tired and dated. They didn't take out booking correctly over the phone as when we rang to change the timing we were told there was no booking. They did however accommodate us and we arrived for afternoon tea for a early Mother's day treat. No fresh flowers on the table, just small plastic tacky flowers. Cheap white plates and cups - not very special for afternoon tea. The tea itself had a random selection of prepared fillings- no smoked salmon or nicely cooked ham. Very small sandwiches. Dry bland scones. The only tasty parts of the tea was the lemon drizzle cake. Wouldn't recommend and certainly wouldn't visit again. A real shame as the staff were very polite and friendly.

February 2024Room smelt of damp, presumably because it was right next to the river and we were given an upstairs cottage room, which would have been fine if there was a lift but we had to struggle with our luggage up a steep flight of stairs. Worst of all they use a taxi company called Arrow Cars who were 20 minutes late picking us up - very annoying when we had a flight to catch!!! The staff were nice and helpful, but bar food was very over-priced and barely warm. Nice location but not worth the money. Won’t be staying here again.
