We have just had our wedding at Cley Windmill and honestly from the very first contact, everything has been absolutely amazing! The staff are friendly, flexible and the service was faultless. The food was so good, everyone commented on how great it was and we left very full! The rooms and location are simply stunning. We had the most incredible day and want to share how awesome this place is. 5 stars is not enough to describe how good our experience was. We will definitely be back and thank you again for making our stay just perfect!

So it's a very reluctant review but one I think necessary after my experience recently. I was gifted a stay at cley windmill by my friend after the passing of my father. We booked the wheel room for me and my husband to celebrate our anniversary. Unfortunately my mum took ill the day before our booking and I called to ask if I could bring my son as I had no babysitter. The lady was very accommodating and said 'no problem, we will move you into another room' so we could bring our son (children under 16 can't stay in wheel room and that's fine we understand). Upon arrival we were shown to our room, which was fine (dovecote) although nothing special. We went out for dinner (as restaurant was shut and the receptionist informed us the whole windmill was locked at 8pm). Upon our return we tried to connect to WiFi as neither 4g was working and there was no service. We tried continually all night (as I wanted to contact my mum) to no avail. In the morning after 8am I asked at reception what the issue was and the receptionist connected me to office WiFi (surpise!) Breakfast was substandard with my vegetarian husband being served frozen hash browns with undercooked sausages and 1 piece of toast between 3 people. When we left we were asked if our stay was OK and when I bought up these concerns I was met with a bewildered stare and no apology, just questioned why I didn't bring it up before (there was noone there to bring it up with!) We were given 2 free drinks as an apology with respect, but minimal for what we received. I was sent an email asking to address issues before leaving a review, which I did, and that email was ignored. Only today I called (10 days later) and asked why the email hadn't been responded to. I had a reply a few hours later, which was pompous, dismissive and unapologetic.. suggesting the high level of service is why its booked up for most dates. Sorry for £245 a night I expect a high level of customer service, care, standards and an apology for poor service we received. This was not our experience. I don't care whether its Norfolk or not, I wouldn't return if you paid me. My advice, don't waste your money.
