We cannot criticise at all. Everything was wonderful. The rooms were comfy and tremendously well decorated. We loved the Black Love Elizabeth‘s Blackadder Prince. Very very clean, bed really comfy. The room was warm, even though it was little cooler outside. The staff were unobtrusively attentive. We felt when sitting in the lounge that the house was “ours” and the staff were looking after us as “our” staff. It was very very personalised. Nothing was too much trouble for them and it was lovely that we had the first log fire of the season. One point - we would have preferred not to have had back ground music on continually. It might be nice to provide a silent space.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay. The hotel is beautifully decorated and furnished throughout. Our bedroom( Steward) in the main house was delightful with a spacious bathroom. The breakfast was extremely good. All of the staff we met were very kind and keen to please. The hotel is an easy 10 minute drive to Ely. Do spend time walking around the stunning garden and grounds.

We stayed at The Old Hall for two nights to celebrate my partner's birthday. The Old Hall is a welcome oasis of calm. The building and grounds are stunning and the staff are attentive yet discreet. The perfect combination. The room we stayed in was away from the main house and was beautifully decorated and well appointed with a very comfortable bed and an eclectic mix of new and old furniture. The bathroom boasted a roll-top bath and amazing rainfall shower. We only ate breakfast at The Old Hall. There was a nicely presented buffet of cereal, yoghurt and pastries etc. The hot food options were all cooked to order and included an amazing vegan English breakfast which was very tasty. The waitress on the first day remembered us from a previous stay over 15 months previous. We are both looking forward to staying at The Old Hall again in the near future (just need to find an excuse for a celebratory break away) if our dog sitters can cover for us.

This was such a lovely place to stay and everyone couldn't have been nicer. From the welcome on the phone when booking, to fresh tea and cake when we arrived, a lovely room, and the most delicious breakfast, it all felt very special. The staff were exemplary and friendly and we had a fab time. Only downside is its not really walking distance to Ely if you have no car with you. But the grounds are lovely and the topiary amazing so that makes up for it. Thank you for a great stay.

What a stunning hotel the Old Hall is. Even more so on a beautiful late Sunday afternoon at the end of September. A Jacobean-style red-brick building that’s been fully modernised inside, it combines history and comfort perfectly. The gardens alone are worth the stay. We were lucky enough to meet the Head Gardener, who with a small team keeps the grounds immaculate. We had serious hydrangea envy. Dinner was simple and perfect: one cheese platter, one charcuterie board, and a bottle of Merlot enjoyed in front of a vast open fireplace. Peaceful, unhurried, and it felt as though we had the whole place to ourselves. We stayed in the Cathedral Room (No. 15) — spacious, light and so comfortable. One window overlooks the lake, the other frames a romantic view of Ely Cathedral a couple of miles away. The staff couldn’t have been lovelier or more helpful, and breakfast the next morning was superb. Another walk around the gardens before we left made it hard to go. Thoroughly recommended.
