Went for lunch on the top floor terrace. Lots of space and great views—very classy. Menu is quite classic and definitely not on the cheap side. I had two starters—the peach and goat curd salad and the steak tartare. The salad was lovely and I enjoyed the tartare but this one had a lot of pesto and I prefer it sharper, with more onions and capers. Bill for 2 was about £70 so definitely not cheap.GOOGLE REVIEW
Fantastic in so many ways. We are so pleased with Smiths since the refurb, firstly you can now go to the top floor just for a drink. It’s one of the best drinking terraces in London and on the weekends it’s pretty quite so it’s a real hidden gem. We’ve had breakfast downstairs a few times which has always been great and the vibe is so much better than it was before but today was truly fantastic because we were able to enjoy a high end restaurant that really welcomes children (1yr old) we booked into the top floor for Father’s Day and the team were so welcoming and friendly towards us and our son that it made it one the best dining experiences we’ve had as parents. The food was delicious and really good value for the quality of the food. I highly recommend the new and improved Smiths.GOOGLE REVIEW
Always booked up with too many reserved tables of office parties. So no room to sit if you just want a drink with mates. The woman at the bar told me I was old fashioned for using cash to buy a drink. I felt old. I’m not that old. I have happier memories of this place 15 years or so ago. Perhaps I am old.GOOGLE REVIEW
Smiths had been recommended as the place to go for decent food. Unfortunately since the recent changes, I wouldn’t recommend it at all. After being left for approx 40 minutes for a medium steak, it turned up very well done and more so than my friends well done streak. When pointed out to the waiter (very polite and helpful) the kitchen sent him back with it stating it was cooked perfectly and there was nothing wrong with it. After some discussion on what a medium steak was, the kitchen agreed to send another. Unfortunately this was also well done (no pink at all and tough). Ended up with no dinner whilst all my friends ate. Never experienced a kitchen tell me what I want to eat before and make me feel like I’m wrong in my request!! Wouldn’t recommend after that uncomfortable experience. Oh, and service charge was added as a matter of course which was the last straw.GOOGLE REVIEW
Ambiance booted the Grill on floor 2. Ambiance was amazing as was the rugged yet polished decor. The starter and main course were 11 or of 10. The scallops are a must as is any steak. The triple cooked chips are up there too as are the Vietnam options which was a pleasant surprise. Desert was average but this place is not about the desert so that is understandable. Definitely will come back to discover the other floors!!GOOGLE REVIEW
