It's a really good museum with a free exhibition of natural history collection. Lots of stuffed animals, shells, skeletons etc. Also one side about different cultures, and a room about music with lot of musical instruments too. In the basement they have the aquarium and outside there's a butterfly house and really nice gardens.

I just went to the gardens today not the museum.the garden's is a beautiful space with several things to do in it. There is a very small farm but it is still lovely to be so close to animals such as an alpaca and some sheep. There are some large musical instruments that children and adults can have fun with making lots of sounds. There is also a butterfly house which you have to book to get in but it is well worth a visit. There is also a refreshment kiosk.

Our family loved the Horniman! It took us over an hour on two buses to get to, but once we arrived we were delighted by the natural history wonders. Both if my kids have special needs (Autism and ADHD), and often lose interest at museums, but the Horniman was just the right size to keep them fully engaged for the full visit! My children both loved seeing all of the exotic birds on display, and seeing what the inside of a cat and rat (their two pets) looks like! I loved the culture section, seeing fashion from all over the world! This is a must visit for families with children!

Great museum which acknowledges the provenance of it's collection. Gardens are amazing with an even better view. Only negative for me would have to be the stuffed animals but I can't fault the museum for my personal disinterest in the topic.

Such an awesome day out. Genuinely worthwhile coming here. Although it is of course smaller than some of the others in central London, the displays are outstanding. In addition, the gardens are beautiful and they have an aquarium and butterfly house. The cafes do excellent coffee and have a very wide range of cakes and sandwiches too.
