We stayed in the 'Charming Room', room 110. The room itself was perfect but the bathroom would definitely need updated and the view from the window was horrible. Had a terrible night's sleep due to the smoke alarm on the ceiling which had a piercing green neon laser light shining on us all night!!! We told the receptionist the following morning but he was very dismissive about it. We ate in the restaurant after purchasing a voucher on Black Friday, the meal was amazing, couldn't fault it at all. The pianist in the corner was a lovely touch. We were very disappointed with the breakfast though. Although breakfast was served until 10am, we arrived at 9.25am and there was 1 croissant left and no orange juice at all on the serving table. The waiting staff didn't seem too bothered. We had to ask for juice and toast. We both ordered scrambled eggs and smoked salmon and unfortunately I have to say my 4 year old would have made it better. The scrambled eggs tasted like they'd been microwaved and the smoked salmon was a measly slither on the side. We had both finished before the toast arrived, that's how little the portion was.
