We stayed at this lovely hotel after a wedding so we pushed the boat out a bit with regard to the room. WE had a suite and it was the most beautiful room I have stayed in for years. Four poster bed with lovely views. The staff were absolutely wonderful and they all went the extra mile with the service. If you want a relaxing weekend away give it a try..

Went for afternoon tea today found the dinning room grubby with food on the floor we were first diners in so it hadn't been cleaned since breakfast could see dirt dust under the he furniture. My glass was dirty had lip marks all round the top. Afternoon tea was very poor and not value for money the sandwiches were stone cold dense bread wafer thin ham and beef just very poor quality scones all broke up so struggled to put jam and cream on. Letting standards slip which isn't a good start. Wouldn't recommend the afternoon tea. And the place needs a good clean.

    February 2024

Visited Saturday 24 February 2024 for afternoon tea for 3 of us. Met by friendly member if staff who showed us to our table. We had just sat down and was asked if we wanted a drink, we were wanting a cocktail with our afternoon tea, so asked if we could have 5 mins to look at the cocktail menu, they went away, 30 seconds later another member of staff came and asked the same question. Felt rushed into making a decision at the time. Food and drinks all arrived within 10 minutes. Presentation was good, however on tasting the sandwiches we all agreed the bread tasted stale and dry. The rest of the food was ok. As soon as the staff had put the food out, they never once came and asked if everything was OK or if we needed more drinks - hot or cold. In fact the staff where nowhere to be seen until we were ready to pay and leave and even then we had to get there attention to as for the bill. At the time if our visit there was a wedding on, so we believe the staff were all there at the wedding and forgot us. I would expect Mitton Hall to employ more staff so as to give great service to all visitors to the hall, as £32.50 is a lot of money to pay for stale sandwiches and lack of attention from staff. All in all, very disappointing, we don't recommend it and we certainly won't be returning.
