Afternoon Tea in an old house full of original Character. Sadly, understaffed but still had a nice relaxed time with little attention being paid to all afternoon tea guest, but did we really care, NO! One small detailed nag, the chocolate type of fudge cake had been cut from a round bake, possibly first thing in the morning, by the time it reached us, and I sure other guest, the outside of the cake had dried up effecting it's overall quality this being rather dried up but still OK so as not to wast it but It would have been better not to eat the product. The stars reflect this matter. Still I would not fail to go back there again.

A relaxing and well maintained spa with a decent restaurant. I stayed overnight in a Premier room. Bed was queen sized and comfy, and the room was a good size with a luxury feel. The spa pool is decent, with a sauna, jacuzzi and steam room, and outside seating area. It could use more seats / loungers though as during my stay there wasn't enough for all guests. The treatments are thorough and professional, staff are happy to adjust to your comfort. Though again the accompanying relaxation rooms need more seating to accommodate everyone. The restaurant is very good, a small room and short menu but well executed. For both breakfast and dinner food was served very promptly. Take time to relax in the bar lounge afterwards, the seating is cosy and welcoming. The only downside is the lack of signs anywhere. Being the converted building that it is things are laid out unusually and trying to find rooms, toilets and other facilities is more difficult than it should be without decent signage. A very good spa hotel that with a couple of tweaks could be great.

My wife and I were married here and it was a wonderful experience! Shannen the wedding coordinator went above and beyond to help make our day perfect, the rooms were lovely, and the grounds are gorgeous. Our friends came in from out of town and stayed here before the wedding as well, and they had a lovely stay and enjoyed the walks available in the area.

The best staff, the most beautiful location and my favorite spa! Having spent a lot of time at Greenwoods before the pandemic, seeing everyone do all they can to support clients, despite being understaffed, is so heart-warming. Can't wait to go back soon for a family wedding!

Fantastic little place nested in the Essex countryside. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable, but slightly dated. The bed was OK for two nights, but could really use a new mattress. The spa was the highlight of our stay. All the staff were lovely and very professional. We had a slight mishap with one of our bookings, which was handled swiftly and competently. The afternoon tea was lovely and plentiful, if a bit heavy on the sweet side.
