October 2024What the cinema experience should always be. Warm smiles when hoppin’ in, lovely goodbyes and even got to share what I saw on the way out. Felt at home, well done to Francesco and his team!

November 2024Please don’t host private events if it means the rest of the cinema is brought to its knees. Was my favourite hidden gem cinema - won’t be back for some time, sadly. Went to an evening screening of Gladiator tonight - main bar upstairs was closed for private event which meant a queue of 40 + people was waiting to be served downstairs by some very overwhelmed staff. The kinda of queue where it doesn’t move for 5 mins. No announcement from them about the film starting to a stagnant queue, or assuring it would be delayed. When we gave up and walked inside, the film was already underway. So disappointed that we just walked out and left, passing tons of patrons that were still outside waiting to be served.

November 2024It was an awful experience! The screening room smelled overwhelmingly of sweat and body odor, making it feel like sitting in a dirty sauna. This was not the first time it happened, on a prior visit, we encountered the same issue. Despite bringing it to the staff’s attention, and the plethora of online reviews, they seemed surprised as if this were a new complaint. It became so unbearable that we had to leave mid-movie.

November 2024Curzon Hoxton didn’t deliver what the brand aspires to. Food served that had only been defrosted but forgotten to be cooked by the bar staff who all have a go at cooking when asked. We were offered a refund after returning two plates back to the kitchen which was fine but the experience fell short of what we were expecting from a cinema that charges high end prices for properly budget service.
