A really good, affordable family day out - see a Tudor/Stuart manor and enjoy a guided tour brim full of interesting facts and touches of humour delivered by the servants, resplendent in period costume and speaking in middle English language. The gardens are set out in Tudor style and the setting of the manor is breathtaking. Enjoy refreshments in the cafe afterwards and take a look at the shop too. Well worth a visit.

Loved it! I am very nervous re covid but felt quite comfortable with the provisions they have made. The staff are lovely, the tour EXCELLENT. The guides are experienced period re-enactment experts. They aren't just dressed up, they genuinely know a lot about the history of the time and place and totally won't come out of role! The cafe is big, airy with screens between well spaced tables and the food very nice and reasonably priced. Recommend!

We booked a tour of the manor 8/6/21. The receptionist Sian was really lovely, helpful and informative. We arrived 10 minutes early to pay and take in the surroundings. We sat outside on the benches and enjoyed the beautiful views. The tour was just the 3 in my party, all masked of course and we absolutely loved it. I have mobility issues and that was no problem at all as there is a lift inside the manor building which I didn’t expect. The costumed guides were amazing. They engaged with us throughout and made our trip really enjoyable and personal. They never broke character once! They gave us so much information but in such an interesting way. Honestly we loved it so much we’re going back but this time it’s for afternoon tea and Sunday lunch. . I can’t recommend a visit there enough. .

Booked in for the Manor tour with my family it was great informative and well worth the money, the staff were excellent throughout our visit. After the tour we had Sunday lunch in the conservatory which was delicious and again the staff were excellent. A lovely day out.

We had a 3 Course Sunday Lunch in the conservatory today at Llancaiach Fawr Manor in Nelson. I must say it was absolutely outstanding! Beautiful Haddock and Mozzarella Fish Cake with chilli dip to start, then we were served with our dinner, The beef and the pork was delicious and veg was extremely tasty and fresh, all plentiful! Then key lime Cheesecake and the Profiteroles (all homemade) with chocolate and additional cream. Llancaiach Fawr is by far the best place to have Sunday Lunch. All the staff are very efficient and friendly. Service is exceptional. I would highly recommend!
