Built in 1893 as a magnificent banking hall, the aptly named Counting House oozes 19th Century grandeur. It's a stunning place to stop by for a pie and a pint.

This characteristic room was the Bank Managers office. It is an elegant, cosy space located on the ground floor, this room also allows for an easy access to the main bar.

Staying here is like stepping back in time, in only the best of ways. The Counting House rooms are reminiscent of accommodations from over a century ago, but with plenty of modern amenities and great housekeeping standards. Comfortable bed, quiet rooms despite a pub being downstairs, and great breakfast and dinner options in the pub, which is outfitted in circa 1890s decor. The front desk was superb in dealing with any concerns that arose. The location is also unbeatable, with 3 Tube stops in easy walking distance, and a safe area that's quiet at night. It's not cheap, but it's a much nicer experience than staying in an impersonal hotel chain. Hope to be able to return someday!

Very nice hotel and pub. Old converted bank with tons 9f atmosphere. Rooms are small but exceptionally clean, neat and modern with high ceilings and wood paneling. Pub atmosphere is the best with domed ceiling and beautiful chandeliers. Food is also well above average and service is top notch. A must visit for any trip to London
