A professionally run historical hotel full of character. Immaculately clean with beautiful manicured gardens. Excellent breakfast and service. Highly recommended.

The most terrible weekend away in a hotel I have ever had. I chose this place because it was my partner’s birthday treat. I booked it because it had a nice restaurant, spa and swimming pool. I booked the spa for my partner and a special birthday dinner. When we arrived I was told the pool was closed and (no notification on the website when I booked) And even though I booked a table in the restaurant and had a confirmation email they said it was not on there system. Do there wasn’t a table available. The person on reception was not very helpful and rude. The room had no working heating and we woke up to find cockroaches on the floor.

I don't often bother posting reviews, but I felt that the recent negative reviews were unfair (especially 18 months into a pandemic, which must be a very challenging time for a hotel business). We stayed last night & i had checked out the reviews a couple of days beforehand, many of which weren't great. But I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were all lovely & really helpful without exception. They upgraded our room & gave us a slightly later checkout time. The food was simple but delicious, good quality & cooked perfectly. Yes maybe some of the decor is ready for a freshen up, but this didn't affect our stay. The building is stunning. It is a shame that the pool & jacuzzi are closed, but this seems beyond their control. It would be good if they let you know this at the time of booking, rather than in the email confirmation. Attended a wedding at Seckford hall hotel, lovely buildings and grounds, friendly staff, good food and drink. Really enjoyed my day there. I would have given it 5 stars, but bar service was rather slow and chaotic.

Afternoon Tea with her lady friends to celebrate my wife's 70th Birthday. Fabulously entertaining. Good food in pleasant surroundings. Staff were attentive but unobtrusive.
