The hotel is in the city centre. It is very close to train station and all historical places. Hotel manager and staff are very friendly and helpful. When we arrived the hotel they served tea and cakes which were very delicious from their cafe. They are also children friendly people. For the check out day they kept our bags until our trains departure time. You feel like you stay in historical building. If we visit Edinburgh again we absolutely prefer this hotel.

Hotel review We booked a junior suite with garden. When we arrived we were a bit early but we were good taken care of, by offering us a cup of tea while waiting for the room to be ready. When we entered the room (room 1 is in souterrain) we has to gasp for air. What a small room! And the bed is even tinier! The garden is non existent, it’s a tiny courtyard, below street level. What a disappointment. A lot of noise from the street during the night, the courtyard was used to throw garbage in (by people on the street). This is the only hotel who offers a junior suite meaning the tiniest room they have. Everywhere in the world a junior suite is larger than a standard room. Would consider booking again, because of the excellent location, but not this specific room! Tip: room 3 is a ground floor room at the back of the building. Breakfast was good and tasteful.
