Nice, whole day experience with my 5 year old twins. It's small enough to walk all around but big enough to fill the day. We didn't get to see all animals as they were in their shelter but the Gruffalo maze made it up for us. Lots of hands on activities, staff was very helpful and willingly refilled our water bottles wherever we asked. Only problem we had was with toilets. I had to take my daughter to the bush as she would bot have been able to hold through the queue. I am absolutely amazed that we got to upgrade our ticket for annual pass for no extra charge. Glad to find this. Thank you

We really like Twycross Zoo for a family day out. They are a family friendly and conservation zoo so it’s not about exploiting the animals. The animals there also have lots of space and places they can go if they don’t want to be stared at which means sometimes you’re looking at empty enclosures, but that’s good for the animals themselves. There are plenty of places you can sit and picnic, but there are also plenty of places you can get food if you get hungry, or a coffee to tip up your energy levels. There is a big indoor soft play for kids wanting to run around, and a big gift shop with prices for everyone to get something. There is always something to look at - little kids might like The Gruffalo Trail, but my personal favourite is the butterfly house. There are also now some amazing Lego statues dotted around which are fun for the kids to spot. Lots of parking and friendly staff. Parking can be paid for at any time so no need to queue. Recommended.

Great facilities for visitors, including plenty of parking as well as multiple toilets, etc. There's a cafe/restaurant and some snack bars dotted around, so you can really make a day of it. Plenty to see. If you follow the Zoo Map, you'll not run out of things to do. Really good zoo, if you like apes, chimps and gorillas. I can see some extension work going on. I wonder and hope that there might be some new animals on the way. Very friendly, polite staff.

It had been quite a few years since I last visited Twycross Zoo so I was really looking forward to taking our two kids for the first time over the Easter holidays. We booked our tickets about a month in advance (luckily got a nursery discount too, which was a nice bonus) for a 9:30am entry. Even that early the place was already pretty busy! Thankfully, staff were on hand helping with parking which made things smoother. Right at the entrance there’s a large soft play area, plenty of seating and even a Costa, which was an unexpected touch. The coffee however, came with a bit of a sting—£4.40 for a small latte felt like service station pricing. The zoo itself is well laid out and easy to navigate with clear signage and maps available throughout. It’s definitely more of a “monkey-focused” zoo—there’s a huge variety of primates compared to other animals. A few enclosures were empty, but that’s understandable; after all, the animals aren’t always going to be out for show. All in all, it was a lovely little day out and the kids had a great time. It was very busy (no surprise since it was Good Friday) but still enjoyable. A nice touch is that the tickets are valid for up to a year, so we’ll definitely think about returning again sometime soon.
