The best thing about the Penventon is the staff. They are ALL BRILLIANT. Every single ones customer service is first class. Special mention of Levi and Alex... brilliant The rooms very comfortable, superb bath and shower. The restaurant is fantastic. Real quality food. Looking forward to tomorrow's Spa treatment

Didn't have a room. Went for a meal in the restaurant. Excellent food, service and easy parking. When asked the chef did a special meal not on the menu that day. Friendly and helpful staff. Pianist playing in the restaurant. Upmarket venue. Impressive.

Booked a lunch, surroundings, flowers and staff were friendly and welcoming. Lunch was OK. The pancake dish was good. The terrine was, indeed, a light bite and didn't have the lattice potatoes to go with it as written in the menu. On mentioning this to the waitress, she just apologised, but didn't do anything about it. The wine was good. Puddings very expensive so we didn't bother. Coffee was lovely.

Not our first stay at the Penventon and as previous was a lovely stay. Staff super friendly and can’t do enough for you. My only negative was with the food. I asked for a medium steak and what came out was very well done. The fries and onion rings were put in cold oil and had gone all soft and oily. When you are staying in a 4 star establishment you expect a good standard of food for the price you pay. If your Chef is letting that standard out the kitchen then they need further training. Thankfully this was removed from my bill, but did ruin the evening as this was my wife’s birthday. My personal opinion is that the menu is not as good as it once was at the Penventon. Would’ve been 5 stars hadn’t it been for the food.
