Great museum, lots to discover and lots of interactive bits for the kids to explore. The children's play area is ticketed but free and there's something there for most ages. Missing one star because the galleries seem to start from around 1600 now so missing all the prehistoric, roman and medieval archaeology from the area. I'm sure earlier periods had been covered there previously so perhaps have been moved temporarily.

Fascinating and calm corner of a part of London now entirely devoted to money worship. The history of the old port of London is told superbly. There is also an interesting set of exhibits on how slavery and immigration helped to create multi ethnic London. Kids will love the Sailortown gallery. This 66 year old one did.

Great educational trip in a great old building. Best way to understand how this part of London has changed. They will need to update some of there displays to become more interactive (digital or otherwise) in order to keep up the appeal.

Went recently to see the new Roman Dead exhibition with some friends. Really well laid out, and everything is explained really well, especially considering some of the scientific stuff is a little complex. It's a beautiful building to have a museum in too, I'd never been here before but it's a lovely place! The staff were very friendly and helpful, and I will definitely visit again.

Great place for kids.family trails available. Nice little play area on a ground floor. It's free but you need to get free ticket at the main desk. Easy access via DLR. Nice cafe inside. Lots to do on a rainy day. Highly recommend.
