Village Underground is a beautiful 5000sqft blank canvas in the heart of Shoreditch. A former Victorian warehouse, it has many inspiring architectural features - from the elegance of the main atrium to the fabulous bare brickwork of the 19th-century vaults. Powered 100% by green energy, we have moved a long way from the coal storage facility that our venue once was.
Village Underground is a multi-functional space which is also available for private events and corporate hire. Our team are able to help envision, produce and host a wide range of events. The money raised from these hires directly funds our artistic programme.
Our main room is perfect for events β from conferences and launches to intimate dinners, parties and receptions, fashion shows, for filming and for exhibitions.
A fantastic 5000sqft blank canvas set in a beautiful former Victorian warehouse with many inspiring architectural features; from the huge void of the main atrium, with its ten metre high, glass panelled ceiling, to the fabulous Victorian brickwork of its 19th century vaults β a highly versatile and flexible space that can easily be adapted to suit virtually any need. It has a standing capacity of 700 and a seated capacity of up to 250.
The venue is famous for the iconic train carriages on the roof, and the exposed brick walls of the interior. We're ideally located in the heart of Shoreditch, just a few minutes walk from both Old Street and Liverpool Street Stations.

June 2024Great venue. Watched Horace Andy here last night. The atmosphere was amazing πΊπΆπ―π²π

May 2024A warehouse converted into a concert venue...it's not big as was expected but nonetheless the lighting and sound acoustics was surprisingly good. The bar is located adjacent to the venue and a smoking area available. The support act was Miso Extra and the main card Fabiana Palladino. It's worth a visit.

May 2024Great gig venue with good sound and buckets of atmosphere. Drinks very pricey, but that's to be expected.

June 2024Excellent venue but too loud and the sound too distorted. Need higher quality sound installation and/or different setting.
