Looking Glass Cocktail Club is a stylish speakeasy bar, situated in the heart of buzzing Shoreditch, on the hip and yet undiscovered Hackney Road. Step through the opulent ‘looking glass’ to enter a quirky 'secret room', a parallel world of decedent debauchery and tantalising entertainment. With moody subtle lighting, Louis XVI inspired furniture, brocade fabrics and other lovingly sourced vintage pieces, this is the perfect spot to throw a party and taste some of the best cocktails in London!
The Secret Bar is an expansive space within the eccentric Looking Glass Cocktail Club. Hidden away behind a secret door the room has its own sound system and bar, providing excellent space for corporate functions, PR events, private parties and more. Our cocktail menu is an in house creation by our bar team. We have a secret laboratory, fondly named 'Underland', that is always buzzing with talented Mixters and Mixtresses making the syrups, bitters, Jamari, and liqueurs necessary to create the unique flavours in our delectable cocktails. We had our Christmas party at the Looking Glass Cocktail Club last week and what a party it was, The staff were more than willing, and able, to make sure our night went exactly how we wanted it to go. We were able to decorate the venue in our own theme, the cocktails were amazing and the food we ordered in was really tasty. All the feedback from our staff after the event was very positive. As with every party there were small issues but these were handled and resolved easily and quickly. Thanks to the team for a wonderful night.

Nice place for private events. Very intimate and lovely staff. I was very impressed by one bartender that prepared a mocktail exactly for my taste.

Drag bingo was so much fun! Restrictive view, but the lovely performer walked around to the tables! Had a great time. Drinks came fast - excellent service.

Would not recommend at all - I very rarely leave reviews. Had one of the worst nights in a really long time because of the staff here. The bartender/manager was discriminating towards my two East Asian friends for no apparent reason early on when everyone else was more drunk/inappropriate. He decided to make a judgement and then pointed my two friends out as the ‘Asian girls’ to not be served publicly to other bartenders which made them feel like outsiders and racially discriminated against. They did nothing wrong, were really friendly and this guy ruined their night because of his own mood. I went back after seeing my friends mistreated to have a chat with the manager and a girl near me called me some really derogatory comments for being brown, in front of both bartenders whilst I was trying to speak - at this point the manager was being understanding. But this escalated as the girl beside me got extremely rude and I was escorted out when I reacted to her. Thankfully the security guard understood and saw the situation but everyone else was very happy to accept racial slurs being thrown at me and my friends at this point. The bartender said he would call the police on me even though I was sober and already out (!?) and just trying to get him to listen to me. I’m pretty certain the drunk racist girl who happens to be white was served and treated with the highest respect whilst my friends and I were left to politely leave because they knew we were mistreated, and would do so because of this as our night was already ruined. This feeling will linger for a long time coming. I just hope these bartenders have some empathy and open their eyes a bit on what kind of impact pointing someone out has, whilst allowing others to get away with horrid treatment of other people. I would say go to other bars around shoreditch that have a better inclusive environment, and attract better clientele of humans.
