Comfy beds, good size family rooms however as normal only 2 glasses/mugs despite 4 staying in room. The conference center is large but easy to get around. The pool is good, due to half term we had to book a slot before hand and could have only 1hr a day. Steam room and sauna. On-site free parking.

The room I had was showing its age, but clean and warm. The restaurant was closed on a Sunday evening but you could eat in the bar. Which is why I marked it down a star. Although the staff very helpful and good service.

A decent hotel, about which there is nothing particularly special, but the majority of areas are satisfactory. GOOD THINGS: + The breakfast food was very tasty and fresh. However, the tables are not in their best shape; several were loose and not stable. + The room was in good shape, clean, and well-made. + There is spacious parking, and there are shops, pubs, and restaurants nearby, within about 10 minutes of the city. + The sauna and steam room were very good. The steam room produced a lot of steam as it should, and the temperature was good. Similarly, the sauna temperature was excellent and hot, as it SHOULD BE. + Pretty good sound insolation. BAD THINGS: - The receptionists, all three different ones, seemed as if they felt forced to work and were absolutely unhappy about everything. Also, for some reason, my room card was deactivated for no apparent reason, even though I still had time before checkout. - The biggest disappointment is that they advertise leisure facilities such as a sauna and a swimming pool as their own, when in fact, this is not true. The facilities are in the hotel but are managed by a different third-party company. Although they are included in the price, the hotel has no control over these facilities. I booked a one-night stay and was willing to use these amenities, but I was told I needed to book them upon arrival. To my surprise, the third-party company that manages the leisure facilities said they could only book me for the following next day, by which time I would have already left. What's worse is that there is no mention in the hotel's information before you book your stay that you need to make an additional reservation for the leisure facilities, which was an absolute shock. The hotel seems can't do anything in this regard. Only after I was about to completely give up on the hotel and not stay for my booked night, the manager went to speak with the leisure center and offer me a free extended stay in the hotel before I could go to the leisure center the next day, in other words, a late check-out, which was still better than nothing. Customers be aware, and the hotel should make this crystal clear in their advertisements for leisure facilities. - What I didn't like about the leisure facilities was that they used too much chlorine. Even if you just sit around the swimming pool, not even inside it, your eyes become irritated and you feel constant discomfort. I have never in my life been in a swimming pool with such a high amount of chlorine. Perhaps lack of air circulation inside the facilities? Additionally, there are very few sun loungers, which you never get a chance to use. Also, water from the shower next to the sauna should be colder and with stronger pressure, this is what your want when you come out hot after sauna room. The last concern is cleanliness. Compared with other leisure facilities, this one was not clean enough. There was mold here and there. The biggest surprise is that no one seemed to care about safety - the dry sauna was almost half-flooded with water,I am happy that I wasn't electrocuted because the water almost reached some cables near the heating center. I was there for more than one hour, yet nobody came to check on it. Overall, the hotel is decent, but probably I would not return if I were in the area again.

Stayed here over the Xmas weekend as part of an event. First time we have had the event there, and I hope the last. Will try to do a balanced review. Positives Spa was lovely. Pool very clean. Sauna room and steam room amazing. Clean changing rooms and showers. Location of the M1 is very close, this means it is easy to get to. Staff who are doing the every day work (cleaners, food staff ) generally doing what they are told and are trying their best. Mostly a young staff who are trying their best. Negatives Management was awful. Didn't want to take on any feedback. Food was dire. Frozen veg, rationed out, gives you an example of food quality and portions. Can't say more than that. Rooms were not attended to once during the 3 days. Layout of venue was very bad, didn't feel like a conference at all. Quite an old hotel with dirty carpets. More like a 3 star hotel or an old youth hostel, definitely not a 4star hotel. Overall I would hope that I don't have to return.
