About Venue
Nestled in the vibrant hub of Shoreditch, Close-Up is your go-to venue for all your screening requirements. Whether you're planning a press screening, corporate event, presentation, conference, cast and crew preview, or celebrating a Christmas or birthday party, we've got you covered.
Our state-of-the-art cinema is available to hire on an hourly basis, either as a stand-alone screening room or as a full venue hire. Our adjoined café and bar is fully licensed and offers a convivial atmosphere for drinks receptions or informal post-screening discussion. The 40-seat cinema is fully equipped with a 2K NEC D-cinema, 2 x Kinoton FP30-D 35mm and EX 6000 16mm projectors and Dolby 5.1 surround.
Café & Bar Our café & bar offers a unique setting surrounded by our film and book library. We also have a serene courtyard area, ideal for the summer months. From corporate hospitality to conferences to birthday parties our venue is also available for bespoke private hire.

What a wicked venue! This will always be the place where I screened my first feature film. The staff are amazing. For any film makers out there these guys actually care about us. The price they gave me was unbeatable in such a cool location that is so easy to reach! You guys are amazing thank you!

Everything was absolutely perfect for the cast and crew screening. Close-up as a venue is very well situated. Inside it is charming and comfortable, with an extensive library of films and film literature. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The facilities including the cinema room, bar and available spaces for socialising are ideal. On a technical level the sound equipment and projection were excellent. All round a fantastic venue.

What a great venue! Jake and the team were so helpful and accommodating. Lovely relaxed atmosphere - everything was taken care of and the team were able to enjoy a morning away from the office. The cinema itself is well equipped and comfortable, and there's a great seating area and bar to hang out in.

Beautiful space and concept, but had to leave due to someone on their phone multiple times and even filming the screen. You’d think in a place like this you’d be immune from phone users but no. Maybe a ‘turn off phones’ advert would be applicable before screenings or something similar made in house. Also, very loud, like unnecessarily loud. I’ve been to concerts that were quieter 😆
