Would give zero stars if I could. Had the most horrible experience yesterday at the Shard. I have been living in the city for more than 6 years and never I have been treated like a second class citizen and in such an unfair manner. This evening a group of friends and I went for drinks at the Aqua Shard. Upon exiting the establishment, we wanted to take some pictures with a nice background as the majority of the customers did and are allowed to. The security guard at the end of the night shift was extremely rude and told us we couldn't take pictures even though other guest (which he insisted to call HIS guests) were allowed. He also mentioned that the prerogative of taking pictures was just for paying customers and when I tried to calmly explain that we had just settled our bill and wanted to take a few pictures to remember our reunion, he proceeded to aggressively deny our request and make up excuses for why we couldn't take pictures. He brashly kept telling me I was aggressive and rude when I was politely trying to reason with him. His response has been demeaning and aggressive. Overall that was the worst possible example of customer service, I felt disrespected as a human and I felt this experience had a racially motivated undertone especially given the accusations and arguments he made. I will not be visiting this establishment in future and will warn my friends and colleagues of this displeasing and emotionally scarring event. Deeply disappointed also by the response from his other colleague who stood by without doing anything and letting us (as paying customers) be abused by a member of the staff. If the staff at Aqua Shard reads this, I would like to log in a formal complaint and also suggest that a revision of the employment vetting process and further training should undergo a thorough examination and modification. The treatment we have experienced today is below the acceptable standard in a place that is advertised with a premium service.

The food is pretty good, but not as excellent as you’d expect for the very high prices. My waitress was polite but a little clueless. The views are excellent as you’d imagine. The real failure is the speed of service, which I think is the kitchen, not the wait staff. I asked for a quicker dinner since we had an early train to catch in AM. 40 minutes for first course to come out and 20 minutes fir next course. Really slow. Best bet is have a drink here at sunset to get the view then go to a High end restaurant elsewhere

The best views of Central London. The place is must go to for some really nice food. This is a very nice place to relax, enjoy a beautiful meal and a drink. Staff is friendly and welcoming. It can get crowded at times but that’s credit to the location and the service provided. Highly recommended

Great food, decent service but you're really paying for the view. Rather limited menu, plus new potatoes turned out to be small roasted, and we had to ask if they had more choice of veg - yes, but not on the menu. The crab starter was simply amazing. Observing fellow diners - at these prices who wears trainers and jogging bottoms? Come on people, make an effort!

I came here for afternoon tea. What an amazing experience, it was all themed after Peter Pan. All the sweet and savory items were creatively prepared. I enjoyed the view, the food, and the service was top notch. I would highly recommend this for everyone to try at least once.
