About Venue
A couple of floors above Aqua Shard, its Chinese sister Hutong has amazing views from the 33rd floor of western Europe’s tallest building. Based on the hip establishment of the same name in Hong Kong, the place is inspired by the imperial cuisine of old Peking. Its menu features the likes of chilled spiced razor clams and chinkiang pork ribs. Within the traditional interior you’ll find a nod to the old Anglo-Chinese tea trade. Its two private dining rooms amplify the oriental theme with hand-carved wooden doors and red lanterns. Exclusive hire is an option, and you can add Aqua Shard to take the overall standing capacity to 700.

Visited Hutong and from the moment we walked in everyone was so polite and the host asked us if we are celebrating anything. We were put by the window so we had a lovely view of London when the sun was setting. The food tasted amazing and the portion sizes were great. A special shout out to the host Sebastian from the moment he greeted us at our table and asked if it’s a special occasion and after explaining what we were celebrating towards the end he bought out a dessert with the special occasion written on the plate which topped of the most incredible day. He then took pictures of us in the best spots of the shard and the photos came out excellent. Sebastian’s energy was so positive and lovely and added to the experience. 🤩

Visiting this restaurant was not just about eating. It was an experience. I had the most amazing time here. The staff could not have been more courteous, professional, helpful and amazing. And they all looked so beautifully dressed. The atmosphere was amazing, with a lovely view of the River Thames. As for the food, every bite was amazing. The appetiser, main and the desserts were all amazing. Even the cocktail was another experience. This is by far my best experience in a restaurant.

Wonderful treat for my daughter’s birthday. Our server was excellent. There are probably better, less expensive places if you want Chinese food here in London, but we wanted to treat ourselves to The Shard! The two highlights were our server who was lovely and the King Of Dragon cocktail which was amazing! Thanks to all the staff there!

From getting to the shard to reaching the restaurant upstairs every single member of staff were so friendly. When we got to the restaurant our table was ready despite us being 10-15 minutes early, we were taken to our table and we had booked the skyline experience so was seated next to the window with a great view. The meal we had was amazing and the portion sizes were very fair, not too small and not too much. The duck was the best thing as they bring it out and cut it in front of your table for you to see. We was here celebrating a birthday and the staff even prepared a little happy birthday treat for my partner which was ever so kind. Well worth the money and I would come back here for sure

Service was amazing and cocktails were 10/10. Dessert was lovely and the birthday treat was a nice touch. However, it would have been helpful to know there’s a cut-off 30 minutes before your booking ends, which did take away from the experience. I also found a staff comment about ordering more food a bit unnecessary — if I want more, that’s my choice and what I’m paying for. The food was just okay, nothing special, and the view felt quite far away (would have been better by a window). Overall, some highlights but not sure it’s worth the money.
