Inspiration and creativity fill this original Victorian performance space, which has recently been restored to its former grandeur, with original impressive stained glass windows and barrel vaulted ceiling, regenerated to present a modern and contemporary feel.
It is currently programmed and used by the award winning national opera company, Opera North.
Parties, receptions, corporate events and conferences holding from 30 to 300 people can be accommodated in this flexible space, with tiered retractable seating, an impressive reception or break-out room in the Emerald Grand Hall, wireless, fully staged lighting rig and a professional projection system including cinema sized film screen.

December 2023Very good venue for interesting artists and events. There is a small bar for pre-show and interval drinks, but not food. Parking nearby is easy to find, and not overly expensive for evening shows. Toilets were excellent.

December 2023Howard Assembly Room is a great venue for intimate performances. My husband and I have been enjoying the place ever since we moved to Leeds. We went to see different concerts and artists and were never disappointed. My understanding is it was recently renovated and I think it definitely benefited the place. You can still see and appreciate the old building and its structure yet it’s well lit up and has wide staircase and an elevator. The seating is new and convenient which helps you relax and focus on the stage. The staff is always polite and helpful. Great place all around.

February 2024The Room is a really special venue. It looks stunning, great acoustics and a stage large enough to fit a lot of people on. It can be configured in a very flexible variety of seating options.
