I attended a wedding at this venue and was very surprised by the extremely poor level of quality and service provided, considering it is such a supposedly prestigious venue. There was a severe lack of staff presence throughout the event and the presence we did notice was very negative. The event manager, Paula (an extremely abrasive woman), only seemed to make an appearance to berate and bark at guests, repeatedly telling us we are interfering with their plans to host a conference the next day - completely disregarding the importance of the (very expensive) wedding that was taking place at that moment. We had to repeatedly ask staff to man the 'bar', and when it was manned we were told it was cash only as the card machine had no signal - something neither the guests nor the grooms were made aware of prior to the event. There was obviously no cash machine for miles, therefore guests were not able to drink if they did not have cash. I was a part of a wedding party that were spending the night at the venue. We were initially told that check out time would be 10am (and this is what was in the grooms' contract). However, upon arrival the day before, we were told that we had to be out of the room no later than 8.45am, because of the conference the next day. The rooms themselves were filthy and I was one of several guests that received a series of bites from an unknown source. The food provided by Thrumpton throughout the entire event left a lot to be desired and parts of the dessert during the Wedding Breakfast were actually inedible. The wedding was a success only, and I mean only, due to the grooms and their third party vendors' ability to create a positive event out of the very poor footing provided to them by Thrumpton Hall and its staff. I have since heard from the hosts that the owner and management team are refusing to acknowledge nor rectify any of these issues whatsoever, and therefore feel a responsibility to warn people not to use this venue.GOOGLE REVIEW

The gardens were open for Historic Houses Association members this afternoon. We were kindly offered umbrellas as it was raining and there was hand sanitiser available. We enjoyed the many different moments in the gardens, where plants/trees had been unexpectedly grouped together. We loved the fact that we had it to ourselves apart from a couple of hardworking gardeners but even if there had been a lot of people there are many secret places so you wouldn't feel you were all in a heap. It's a challenge not having any lavatories open and without the chance of a cup of tea and piece of cake but hopefully it will all be available again in due course.GOOGLE REVIEW

Very enjoyable afternoon visit to the grounds of TH. Some elements of the gardens had clearly coped with the last 16 months more successfully.GOOGLE REVIEW
