Located in a spectacular Grade II* listed building in the heart of the city, the RWA is Bristol’s oldest art gallery bringing world-class visual art from around the world since 1844.

With beautifully constructed interiors filled with natural light, these 19th century galleries have housed works from the big names in British Art including Turner, Constable, Nash, and Grayson Perry. The building has recently completed a £4.5m transformation - opening up access for all and providing opportunities for everybody to get creative and feel inspired.

Treat your guests to an unforgettable event with world-class exhibitions and traditional features as a unique backdrop. This one-of-a-kind Bristol venue is suitable for a range of events, including drinks evenings, parties and wedding receptions.

The spectacular galleries are available for exclusive hire throughout the year. This includes access to an impressive marble landing, overlooked by a breath-taking atrium, and spacious balcony with views across the historic area of Clifton.

All spaces are available for evening hire, or throughout the day on Mondays when the building is closed to the public. A dedicated Events Manager will work closely with you, offering advice and support to help plan the perfect event. Hire prices of the Sharples and Winterstoke galleries starts at £975+VAT.

Whatever your event, the RWA can provide a truly unique setting.

The space is available for hire from 6.00pm (or earlier by arrangement), except on Mondays, when all day hire is available as we are closed to the public. Please contact us for further information.

Lovely historic building with attractive cafe. The annual open exhibition is very interesting and well presented. The art is also reasonably priced if anything takes your fancy.
