We came here for a weekend trip for my birthday. We were a little worried by some of the reviews we had seen, but we were so relieved to have had an amazing time. We had breakfast and dinner included in our rate, both were delicious! We had a three course dinner both nights of our stay, with a different menu each night. Everything was brilliant. We also paid £12pp to use the spa throughout the duration of our stay. We found the facilities really nice and relaxing. The jacuzzi and the pool were lovely! We spent about 4 hours there for the duration of our stay, I'd highly recommend. We also found all of the staff super lovely and friendly. It was a 10 minute walk into town, and about 15 minutes from the beach so a great location too. Thank you for an amazing stay!

My wife and have just returned home from a lovely 2 night stay at your hotel. Take no notice of some bad reviews some people have written, we both enjoyed our weekend break very much, all the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room we had was maybe a little small but adequate for the 2 of us, everything worked and it was clean and tidy. The hotel overall was fantastic value, and the dining and bar area were very tastily decorated, breakfast and evening meals were lovely and well presented. All in all we would highly recommend a stay at the Westcliffe Hotel Bournemouth. Thank you to all staff and management. Regards Wayne Hopkins

Very dated rooms. Musty smell. Couldn't use wardrobe as even more musty. Couldn't remove hangers to use on outside of wardrobe. Mouldy and tatty bathroom. Toilet doesn't flush well. Window small and doesn't open far. Carpet filthy (had white socks on). £12 for 24 hours parking. Small car park and small spaces so don't rely on finding a space. £12 to use swimming pool, per person, which we were not made aware of when booking. Even when checking in we were told we could make use of the facilities after check out time, no mention of cost. We specifically chose this for use of pool so were disappointed. However, from what we could see the pool side was very green and only 2 loungers (tatty). Bar closed 11pm with no call for last orders (only wanted crisps). Dust and cobwebs in public areas as well as rooms, although reception/bar/restaurant were modern in design. Breakfast was good, plenty of food options (no mushrooms though), friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Not worth the money, would not book again.

This was a birthday present for a friend. The changing rooms are ridiculous. With two people it is crowded but with six, there was no room at all and quite stifling. The hotel is big enough to make a much larger space for changing. The swimming pool also needed some fixing. Definitely could do better

We had a spa weekend at West Cliff Hotel through an experience voucher. This included a one night stay, three course meal, breakfast and a treatment. The treatments we had and all the food were good and can’t have any complaints on that front. However, after arriving in the afternoon on Saturday we used the spa facilities and were met with really cold pools and cold jacuzzi. On Sunday when we went to use the spa facilities the pool/ jacuzzi were out of action completely. This was very frustrating given we were looking forward to the relaxing spa aspect of the trip the most. The spa staff didn’t seem too bothered or even capable of doing anything about it when multiple guests highlighted the issue to them. Also, our bedroom had a very odd stain on the carpet just outside the bathroom. This might have been caused by water or something worse but either way this was not a good look for any hotel, particularly one claiming to be of luxury standard. Also, after returning from the spa and getting ready for our evening meal we were greeted with no hot water from about 4-7pm. Finally we managed to get some lukewarm water after 7pm but it still wasn’t right. Staff seemed a bit apathetic when we raised the issue and were made to feel like we were being a bit of a nuisance. I appreciate there probably wasn’t much they could do, but no hot water is surely poor by any standard for any hotel and any paying guest would be annoyed. I don’t normally write reviews, but after trying to raise this with staff at reception and then being fobbed off and asked to write an email to then being ignored and then calling and being fobbed off again to voice my complaints. I felt a review appropriate. I appreciate all of the issues in isolation may not warrant a complaint but altogether really took an edge of what was meant to be a relaxing and enjoyable stay at the West Cliff Hotel. I think for a hotel offering experience relaxing/ pamper spa weekends… there should be a certain standard met, and certainly for us this was not the case. The way they completely went out of their way to ignore us when we did try to very calmly voice our complaints, if nothing else to help them improve, made us wonder if a customer facing and service industry is really the game they’re in. All I can say is avoid based on the experience we had.
