The most wonderful retreat centre I've been to - lovely people, peaceful surroundings, lots to explore, and luxurious rooms!

Phenomenal experience. Location: beautiful. And very cost for being quite large. Even with a full house, I felt I had more than enough space for myself Food: oh. My. Goodness. Everything since thing was phenomenal. I think I left heavier after my yoga retreat even though the food was uber healthy. Couldn't stop eating it! Staff: everyone was beyond friendly. Cost: will cost you a pretty pence or two but it was worth it.

Spent two nights in one of the wonderful bell tents. Absolutely idyllic weekend away from the world. Came with some very dear family friends and we all had a fantastic time. The children were living their best lives, playing in the tree house, exploring the woods and swimming and paddle boarding on the lake. The walled garden provided inspiration and wonder for children and grown ups alike. We enjoyed cooking outside and sharing family mealtimes in the sunshine (and in the tent when it rained!). Sitting around the campfire toasting marshmallows and chatting was the perfect end to the day's activities. While we didn't see beavers we did see hares, deer, frogs, barn owls and bats. Thank you 42 acres for another truly magnificent weekend. We will return!

What a fabulous place! My wife and I treated ourselves and booked the Frieda suite; what a delightful experience that was! The most spacious room in an incredibly warm, cozy and amazingly furnished house. Wished we could stay there forever! Love it

42 acres has all the right ingredients for a nourishing, relaxing and comfortable retreat space amongst lush Somerset fields and vibrant woodlands, but more than ticking all the boxes it has the sense of being a really special place, and of holding a lot of positive experiences for people there. There is great attention paid to detail - in the aesthetics of the interior, beautiful unique pieces of art, sculpture and design, locally made eco soap, soft bed linen and also practically in terms of having thought about everything you might need to run a successful retreat. Whilst the main building feels safe and secluded, there is a feeling of expansiveness from having so much space to explore outside with woodlands that feel like they go on forever. There are also fire spots (indoor, outdoor or under cover) complete with great night skies without nearby light pollution. We filled the capacity with our group of 24 but in no way felt cramped - having 2 kitchens, large group space, living rooms, library, outside barns and rooms dotted around on different levels makes the place both feel cosy and spacious at the same time, giving the feeling of being in a home-from-home but better!
