This is a hotel that's lost its way ..... room was tatty as was the lobby furniture and the bar area, it looks like it would have been lovely when first opened but neglected since, the cleanliness of the room was not great at all, the bedding was old and worn surfaces everywhere, TV in the room looks like it was an after thought and small, fitted in a space for a much bigger TV. Food, well, starters were decent, mains were terrible every time, we were here on business, 3 of us had the same one night and were all rough the next day. Saving grace? The staff on the bar and restaurant were so lovely! 2 ladies mainly, Natasha and another who's name I didn't get (might have been double barrelled 🤔) they were all very helpfull and welcoming, if it wasn't for these then it would have been a 2 star! I did mention the condition of the room on checkout and was told I should have said something, well if you need me to point out the room is dirty and in poor condition then there are really much bigger problems! I go there to stay, not help with the standards of the hotel.

Very disappointed with the christmas party. 3 tables on Saturday night total 30 people. Very small room lacked atmosphere. But the actual problem with the venue was it was freezing. We spoke with serval staff telling them we were cold. We sat and ate with our coats on. It made the night miserable being cold. We were told if we danced they would give us a free wine. We would of danced anyway.. to keep warm! Will not be returning any time soon. I expected more from such a lovely hotel!

Possibly one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. Service was absolutely non existent. It was as though they had five new employees loose to run a hotel. Arrived and no additional bed in the room took over two hours to sort. UHT milk was off in room, how long had it been there to go off. Had to ask for new coffee capsules and took twenty minutes for three staff not to be able to find. One staff huffed the entire time of looking! Meal was also suitably awful, curry that tastes of tomatoes soup. How do you ruin a curry! The hotel is warn, the bed mattress is like straw just save yourself the hassle and don’t stay. It honestly has no redeeming features.

We attended a Christmas party On arrival, we headed to the bar as we could see there were others in our party in there We were greeted by a very rude man and told to go to the other bar.. no other explanation other than are you with the tonight's party, go to the other bar, he continued to huff and puff as my partner ordered drinks, then again he barked at me you have your own bar... having never been here before at that point, I asked what bar? To which he then stomped off, saying follow me, so off we went with drink in hand back outside, to which he flailed about saying it's down there pointing. I can honestly say iv never felt so unwelcome at a venue, I was quite stunned. Once in the function room, we did sort of had to make light of the Christmas party decor and set up. Some tables had candle arbours. Some had blossom trees, and it looked like it had an identity crisis... was this a wedding or a Christmas party? The only indication it was a Christmas party was the token cracker on the table. It also looked like they didn't have enough cutlery or glasses, one wine glass one water glass to which if we wanted water we had to get up and fetch it from a water container at the side of the room. We did get a token dessert spoon, but it must have had a falling out with the dessert fork... as the dessert fork was know where to be seen. The food was very substandard and anaemic looking. The staff were very young and in experienced but tried hard the only direction they had was from a slightly older lady who was doing her best, but again they guy who greeted us was flapping around the dining room like a headless chicken, giving off the vibe of him being stressed It's fair to say the whole experience was very underwhelming, and we left straight after the food. I also work in the same industry and can honestly say I was stunned for such a beautiful hotel on the outside it obviously has some issues.

Appalling service, never again. Were not told when making the booking, or when we arrived and booked in, that the kitchens were closed! Unhelpful staff, were told to look on line for places to eat (hotel is in the middle of nowhere). The hot drinks machine in our room required a disc which was not provided and took several phone calls and an hour and a half to receive a jug of hot water and the promise of a replacement machine to be brought up. Nothing arrived! After an exhausting journey, neither of us feeling well, had to go out in foul weather to look for food. Breakfast was a choice of toast or croissants and yoghurt, but at least we could have a hot drink. Room was cold when we arrived, and taps had to be left ages before producing any hot water. Complained to management, after recovering from flu, to be told it was our fault for not seeing notices in their windows!!. We paid £145 for this!!
