I came here with my daughter for afternoon tea. It was quiet, and very unhurried so really quite relaxing! I had the gluten free option, and my daughter had the regular option. We each enjoyed our food, and had a good experience here. The views are lovely - very nice location.

Mixed feelings on this one. The manor house is nice, unfortunately we received a room in the newer part, room was modern and in reasonable condition with everything we needed and bed was comfortable. Were a bit disappointed to find they were decorating literally outside the room in the corridor, didn’t look great, but the worst was being woken up just after 7am with the decorator already started outside our room! Was not impressed, and on dropping back our keys was not even asked how our stay was…. That said the restaurant was really nice, thoroughly enjoyed the food and in a very nice location….so I am a bit tied on this review. Overall, we had a nice break let down by some own goals on the hotels behalf from my perspective….

Went for afternoon tea, took half hour to serve us, all hit drinks were cold even after we asked to warm the drink again. Apart from the egg, all the sandwiches were absolutely tasteless and the bread felt very cheap. We go to many afternoon teas and this place - although in a very nice location and beautiful surroundings. Its certainly NOT worth the money. We ended up with plenty leftovers neither of us wanted to eat.

The grounds and hotel are beautiful. Staff and food are great. However, almost every single pillow and duvet had marks on them that had been there a long time, one looked like blood. The rest of the place is looking run down, they've had leaks and not bothered to repaint, wallpaper hanging off, handles missing off furniture, marks on surfaces, no upkeep is being done to the older parts and it's furniture. Especially shocked and disgusted that staff have been changing beds and seeing those duvets and pillows and not immediately putting them in the bin! Shame really because it's a stunning to look at and ideally located for Warner Bro studio.
