I just love staying here, set way off the main road surrounded by tranquil gardens with lots of beautiful trees to walk around. The hotel has a quirky atmosphere and lots of character. The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome. The rooms are modern but still keeping in with the traditional style of the hotel and very comfortable with all amenities and the restaurant area has lovely views to the gardens. The restaurant has a bar and staff are very friendly. The food in the restaurant is also 5 star.

Highly recommend staying in the Manor as opposed to the newer rooms. The ambiance is outstanding. The service was easily 5 star. Hugo was more than accommodating. The grounds were immaculate and the food was Michelin quality to be sure.

Looks fancy and posh but simply terrible. Staff seemed friendly but every time I asked for anything they seemed to not know and generally looked at each other. I asked for a newspaper for breakfast and they just kept looking at each other and the answer was no. Breakfast was similar. I asked about tea coffee and just got funny looks. Room was ok but big gap under door and water pressure was bad. A-lady entered my room at about 1030. We were both very surprised I went to reception and just got some excuses about booking systems and no apology. Nice gardens. The room was good value but I would not waste my money again.

Stay was nice until my birthday. Booked on check in extending 1 day as the package with Universal Studios was restricted at the time. Front desk clerk put it in for Thur night instead of Wed. Causing me to have to check out amongst my birthday activities and spending hours to find an alternative. This resulted in my being late to activity bookings and pretty much ruined my birthday. Also scheduled my package dinner for Wed night birthday and pre-paid and did not get refund even though their error. Really disappointed as the stay started out well. All because the front desk clerk clicked the wrong date. I even said no issue if they were sold out I had plenty of time at check in to find alternative. But 3 days later to find out he put wrong date and no rooms available.

Can't comment on rooms as I did not stay here overnight - was here for a large party gathering (graduation party for a course I attended - students and faculty party). We had lunch and dinner here as part of our event. Anyways: The Good: 1. Nice interior, good atmosphere for a nice event such as graduations or weddings. 2. Large enough venue to hold about 500+ people comfortably for a single event. The Not so good: 1. Food - we had buffet lunch and a 2-course dinner. The lunch was very average - some chicken wings, rice, salad and slices of dry pizza. The dinner was worse - my main dish was supposedly a "Supreme Chicken" - extremely dry, overlaid with very salty sauce with undercooked tough to chew mushrooms. The dessert was also terrible: a banoffee cheesecake, which was so overloaded with sugar it was sickening and I did not eat more than 1 bite - no flavour, just unpleasantly sweet. 2. Poor customer service - the person who seemed to be in charge (bald male with glasses) was often pushy when directing guests around and impolite. The worst part of the evening was the waitress spilling hot chicken sauce all over my suit and trousers when serving the dinner. She simply stood there staring, did not properly apologize, and made no attempts to escalate or help with cleanup nor any compensation provided. In conclusion: Nice looking venue let down by poor quality food and terrible customer service. I would look elsewhere for your event.
