Loved my stay. Only one observation, the breakfast was a little cool for my liking, I prefer piping hot. The hotel was immaculately clean and well decorated. Staff helpful and cheerful. The setting building and gardens were a delight to wake up to. Enjoyed my stay immensely.

AFTERNOON TEA Having enjoyed Afternoon tea at various venues and restaurants all over the UK we found the food here just above average and not worth the £26.50 a head Firstly the service was very slow, half an hour before the food arrived and not offered a choice of tea or coffee, in fact not even offered a pot of anything, I had to ask. The deserts were very nice, The scones were half the usual size of most tea rooms but plenty of cream and jam. The sausage roll although tasty was very small. A selection of finger sandwiches were fine however they were again small and made from what looked like sliced bread. On booking we were asked if this was a special occasion, It was , It was my parents wedding anniversary and as a treat we felt somewhat deflated with the whole experience. Need to try harder, £106 for 4 people is far too much for what we got.

Good place to get away. I was there for work. It's more place for couples. The staff at night was a bit superficial and they need to work on customer service. The breakfast crew were fantastic... they were very lively and friendly.. But probably because it was the end of the season and they were tired. Only a guess. Good food. And old fashioned rooms. Nice grounds

If I could only ever eat here I would! I love it! Have been a member (very reasonable rates) for years and the food is astounding every single time. Exquisite. The staff are so very polite, friendly, respectful and helpful, you are always made to feel fabulous. Silver service, thick napkins, pristine table cloths and hushed voices...it's a real treat at affordable prices. If you only eat at one hotel in your life, eat at this one...and try and stay too!

Had lovely afternoon tea. The food was all lovely, nicely presented. I had Assam tea which was very pleasant. The service was quick, and attentive but not intrusive. The main restaurant area where we sat is beautiful and light. It was a lovely sunny day but patio doors x 2 were opened so it remained at a pleasant temperature with a mild through breeze.
