Very pleasant, centrally located hotel. The rooms are agreeable and well-furnished, with very comfortable beds, a good work space and decent sized bathrooms. A real bonus in the British Isles is a coffee machine that makes real coffee. My only reservation was that the work area could have been better lit. I had dinner in the restaurant one evening. It is pleasant and relaxed. The menu is relatively short and eclectic. I opted for the fajitas, which were cooked well and presented attractively. The portion was large and the price very reasonable for a hotel. Breakfast, on the other hand, was disappointing, with the food being no more than mediocre and the coffee insipid. The staff are helpful but perhaps rather stretched owing to the Covid restrictions still in place in Northern Ireland.

Stayed in the Clayton last Saturday. Although the room was beautiful and spacious, the receptionist was rude and unwelcoming. Upon checking in at 3PM, we approached reception and the long brown haired girl kept her head down and did not even look up when asked how she was. Checked in and asked if they took cash, which she replied no. We then tried to have a laugh and she did not even reply. Very cold and unwelcoming experience. If you work in customer care you need to at least pretend to be enthusiastic. The other blond girl working seemed very nice and enthusiastic. You could not get a drink in the bar and could only order to the room. Payed €250 for the room and could not even sit in the bar for 1 drink. The breakfast plate was overcooked and tasted very bland. The gym was great but the pool was fully booked. Location is great but I would definitely stay somewhere else next time I’m visiting Belfast. The receptionist ruined the overall experience of the Clayton.

Really enjoyed stay. Reception staff great. All wonderful. Very very central. Comfortable quiet rooms for sleep. Only little thing that could be rectified was dark, dreary corridors to bedrooms. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

Stayed in the Clayton twice, perfect location near the shops/bars and the train station and the rooms are really nice for the price you pay, such good value. And the gym/pool facilities are excellent also included. Would highly recommend.

Great hotel and very convenient location to access anywhere in Belfast, Having a swimming pool and spa is definitely it's winning point, staff are friendly and helpful too. Breakfast team can benefit from a refresher training, and the general design and room layout are getting a little dated. Minor improvements, but generally a fantastic place to stay.
