This is one of the older hotels in Central Leeds but had been kept reasonably well updated. The staff were all very polite and professional. I loved the art deco touches like the staircase and the clock in the reception area. I didn't eat on site or try the bar so can't comment on that but the prices on the menu were reasonable. Sadly during my stay there is a large construction project which woke me pretty early in the morning. Not the hotels fault but it had an impact on my stay. The mattress was far too soft for my back. I like the Covid controls they have in place. All very logical and it felt safe. I'd stay again but would specifically ask for a room away from the building site

What a grand hotel this is. The entrance hall and reception area are from another era, large areas to sit with leather sofas an ornate tiled floor with restaurant and cocktail bar off. Check in was swift and the receptionist was polite and informative. We were on the first floor in a King room, no need to take the lift, we preferred to use to he grand staircase which must be 10 ft wide! The room although a little jaded was clean and the bed was enormous and as it turned out very comfortable. There have been complaints about building noise we didn't have any, it was quiet. The breakfast was plentiful, everything you could wish for part self serve and part waitress. I chose eggs Benedict, no disappointment here, and my dearly beloved chose the American style pancakes in her words "delicious", let's face it you can have a full English anytime why chose that although viewing a plate at a neighbouring table I doubt you squeeze another bean on the plate. Good value for money close to rail and bus, we didn't bring our car, but there is a car park next door. Good restaurants nearby less than a five minute walk. We will come again, a great city break enhanced by this hotel.

Hotel reception areas are beautiful. Rooms are just a little dated likely due to the upkeep required on such a grand old building. The rooms are spacious, well presented and spotless clean as are all other areas of the hotel. We would definitely stay again. Nice to see such a grand old building being looked after so well :)

Great experience. Nothing was too much trouble when we asked to move rooms as our room for the first night was facing building works which were noisy and going through the night. They put us in a bigger room which was lovely and clean. The breakfast was lovely and a lot on offer. Close to train station, shops and bars. Would defo stay here again.

Room good; clean and roomy. Great location Close to station and restaurants. Only minor thing was amount of tea and coffee in room was stingy and wasn't replenished. Although when I requested some it was brought very quickly
