spa was lovely, was a bit outdated and when i think of a spa i think of private facilities, not facilities people are staying at to use as well, when i first got there, there were children in the pool too. the food was ok. the ‘drinks’ that were offered for spa users could’ve done with more of a variety. although the treatments were amazing the pool was nice and big and so was the whirlpool. just preferred if it was separate facilities for spa users and hotel guests. although was a nice day

Away on business. Overall room staff and general feel was good. Staff friendly professional. I found everything very clean and well kept. Disappointed by the food. I had fried breaded Brie starter which were dry empty breaded shells. Then followed by a Thai red curry and rice. Portions very small and the curry was dry lacking sauce and worst of all the chicken was cheap rubbery off a thigh bone. For hotel food and the high end price associated it was very disappointing.

Whilst there are ample car parking spaces, the car park is heavily potholed and has several areas that flood when it's raining. The rooms are tired and in need of a refurb. Having no ceiling lighting, the wall lighting should work, the room I had had two lights not working making one side of the room too dark. The bathroom did have a pleasant blue light. The phone didn't work either. The room service order was delivered incorrectly ( the second time in 2 weeks (2 orders)). I would recommend checking any bill you receive as there have been errors on two bills I received - charged too much. To be fair to the staff, they're always polite and friendly and deal with any issues promptly and fairly. Food quality is quite poor and the food at breakfast can be cold as it's a buffet style that's left in dishes without any heating. I'm back there again over the next couple of weeks and am seriously considering getting a takeaway.

I will start with the positives the rooms are a generous size, the hotel has golf, spa, pool and pleasant grounds. Restaurants and bars on site we travelled as a group and ate one night though it was a bit hectic. Breakfast is self serve and there was plenty available. The negative I appreciate I arrived before official check in time but you do expect a certain standard of customer courtesy from reception staff, I approached the reception where there were 3 members of staff and informed them I had a reservation and received the curt response check in is at 3, I stepped aside to call a colleague who I knew was on site to ask where they were, whilst talking and as an after thought I was then shouted at by reception staff "you can wait in the bar!" When I returned after 3 to check in I was told my room wasn't ready so I asked how they knew this since no one had asked my name. Other down side was the attention to detail in room cleaning, there was a mass of hair in my bath plug hole which I only noticed after the first night this was removed the following day but a simple check list could avoid this additional disappointment
