A couple of floors above Aqua Shard, its Chinese sister Hutong has amazing views from the 33rd floor of western Europe’s tallest building. Based on the hip establishment of the same name in Hong Kong, the place is inspired by the imperial cuisine of old Peking. Its menu features the likes of chilled spiced razor clams and chinkiang pork ribs. Within the traditional interior you’ll find a nod to the old Anglo-Chinese tea trade. Its two private dining rooms amplify the oriental theme with hand-carved wooden doors and red lanterns. Exclusive hire is an option, and you can add Aqua Shard to take the overall standing capacity to 700.

I dined with my partner at Hutong last night, marking our first visit to the establishment. Service: The service provided by Francesco, an Italian gentleman (if I recall his name correctly), was exceptional. He was helpful in guiding us through our menu and attentive throughout our meal. Food: While the food was presented beautifully, the price seemed to reflect the overall dining experience rather than just the cuisine. *The dim sum platter was visually appealing, though we found the taste to be somewhat underwhelming. *We greatly enjoyed the choy sum and tofu with salted egg yolk. *The Mongolian lamb was succulent, and the accompanying chili sauce was an excellent complement. Ambiance: We had requested a window seat, but it is advisable to specify a preference for the side with a view of Tower Bridge (which I’d prefer). The restaurant features a lovely oriental ambiance with dark woods and touches of deep reds, offering stunning views of the city. We dined at 18:00, but I imagine that dining later in the evening, as the city lights up, would be even more enchanting. I would certainly recommend this dining experience to friends and family.

Pablo was an incredible server! He was extremely hospitable and efficient. We had the most amazing time brunching at Hutong. The fried noodles were definitely a highlight! 10/10 would recommend!

Settled on this restaurant for the view while celebrating a special occasion and didn't expect much from the food. It was a busy afternoon but the atmosphere was vibrant and great. The service was a tad slow with the orders but the waiting staff were all friendly and professional in attitude. We had a window table and the view over London was spectacular. Now to the food. It was delicious and utterly enjoyable by all members of my party of 3. It was a set menu, the dynasty lunch I believe it's called. Good selection of starters, easily the best part of the meal. The overall experience was positive and the verdict by all is that we will definitely be back!

Went to Hutong for my son’s birthday and the experience was worth it. The front of house and waiting staff were all incredibly friendly and took time to explain and answer our questions. The service was quick and professional and the food was delicious. The restaurant is on the 32nd floor and the view across London was beautiful. The only slight criticism that I have is the volume of the music played by the in-house DJ.

Lovely experience. Booked a table for 4 for my friend’s birthday and we had a good time. Food and atmosphere was lovely too. Yes it’s on the high side in terms of price but you get what you pay for! We had the Locus signature dinner and my favourite item on this menu was the Braised Chinese mustard greens evaporated milk broth ( highly recommend you try).
