I had a wonderful stay. The building and interior are beautiful. The staff were accommodating. My room was of a good standard; comfortable and clean. I especially enjoyed my time in the lobby bar and can recommend the cocktail 'The King's Tipple'.

Great location for accessing the main sites of Brighton. Service was lovely throughout, especially breakfast. Had an issue with the shower that was sorted by some money off the final bill. Also the remote didn't work properly, I couldn't switch the TV off instantly. It would go off after a few minutes when I had pressed the standby button and then switched on again a minute or so after. Weird.

Stayed at the grand the other night. Was treated by pleasant staff who were polite and helpful staff. The bar area is very nice as well. Our room was good but for the price that was paid I think it’s unacceptable to have two single beds pushed together to make a double and it did definitely make the experience less enjoyable. And in the morning from 9:30 the radiators were very loud which was irritating while getting ready to check out. Would stay again if those issues can be sorted.

Lovely stay with work. Nice big spacious room. The staff was welcoming and even had a warm welcome cookie. Nice sea view when enjoying breakfast, the restaurant staff was tentative and served a nice breakfast.. Short walk to the shops. Would recommend.

Passable but not worth the money and over-rated.My daughter bought me a junior suite for my birthday for 2 nights and for nearly £500 I expected more. The breakfast was very nice but In a 5-star hotel, I would have expected someone to carry bags to the room or at least escort you to the room, but no. The room was for 2 and the complimentary water was 2 cheap tiny plastic bottles 50cl which were supposed to last 2 people for 24 hours. I would have expected larger glass bottles of spring water. I asked the night male staff on duty for 2 more bottles and his reply was have you already finished your complimentary water?" There were basic toiletries and again for a 5-star hotel would have expected more. There was no toothbrush or toothpaste or razors, comb, eye mask etc, only supplied with a small shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion. Complimentary drinks were limited. Enough milk for 2 drinks per day each and supplied with 2 sachets of Kenco instant coffee. Some herbal tea bags would have been nice and some better quality coffee. The coffee machine coffee was not very nice either. The complimentary robes were as stiff as cardboard! The room service meal prices seemed reasonable. I ordered a risotto for £16 but after they added on a 12.5% service charge and £10 tray charge it ended up as £28! The meal was not very large and a little bland. There is a film channel but you have to rent them out for £7.99 each! Surely they should be complimentary. TV had no option to sign in to Netflix and SKY film channels were unavailable, so could only watch normal TV. Overall, for a 5-star hotel it was disappointing.
