A bar, hotel, event space & restaurant situated in the heart of Reading town centre near Reading Train Station. Designed to impress the Market House, once an historic Lloyds Bank, has been transformed into an industrial chic venue with bars, food kitchen, hotel rooms & plenty of spaces to hire for both private parties & corporate events.
A secret garden, a hidden treasure with a custom made electric glass roof which opens up – creating a real sun trap! This was the main Vault to the bank and we have kept all the original features, walls and vault door, it really is a pretty special place.

We had a great party here, there were a selection of drinks from the bar. We had a buffet on the mezzanine which wasn't well thought out or well portioned for the number of guests. The shuffleboard game was epic and we had a lot of fun. There wasn't any parking especially close so we walked from the Oracle car park and it seemed a bit out of the way.

Organising a staff party is a difficult task to achieve however with the help of Lucy, it was made so easy! Not only was she kind, welcoming and very easy to talk to, she genuinely put work into remembering who she was speaking to which really felt like she was on top of her work. We felt safe securing our booking through Lucy. She catered to every need of our group and did it with a smile. Great service and great staff.

I came here last night with the Berkshire Walkers, and although I've walked past the buildings numerous times for college, I've never been in it until last night. I can honestly say it was one of the nicest bars/pubs I've been to with a fantastic atmosphere! The only thing I would say, which I suppose is a minor inconvenience, are the unreliable heaters in the ping pong room, which seem to require constant attention to turn them on. Otherwise a fantastic experience.

Check in wasn’t great as nobody there only a number left to call and found then had to go down to the bar. Rooms were really nicely decorated. No toilet rolls in one of the rooms my friend stayed in and could t contact the person with the number we were provided with for out of hours.

I used to be a huge fan of Market House, but my last experience has totally changed my mind. I made a reservation for drinks and was charged £100, even though my booking confirmation email clearly said I wasn't going to be. I called up to check what this charge was for and I was assured that this would be refunded after my booking as long as I turned up for my booking, which I did. I called up afterwards to see when this refund will be processed but couldn't get a clear response, even had to send an email to chase this up. It's now two weeks since my booking. Still... nothing.
