Location was excellent, close to beach and town. Room was comfy, but wardrobe too narrow. The Restaurant served delicious, tasty, meals every night and the staff were very friendly and professional. Would recommend.

My partner and I stayed in a Superior King room and the room immediately gave us both the wow factor from the moment the door opened! I wasn’t expecting to have an entire suite to ourselves! The quality of the furnishings were excellent, and the extra facilities such as the mobile phone next to the bed, the Nespresso machine and large modern TV were all unexpected. It felt like a proper getaway! All staff were very helpful and had a smile on their faces.

Had a one night stay at The Mercure along with an afternoon tea and spa experience. The service was friendly, we got a reasonably priced and liberally measured drink at the bar. The afternoon tea was nice enough nothing to write home about but the servers seemed somewhat confused about the whole thing. The room was, in my opinion, overpriced. The room was adequate however needed a lot of maintenance. The bath was scratched in the bottom and there was staining on the walls. The room was mostly well cleaned other than the fact it had clearly not been hoovered, for which we didn’t even receive a verbal apology after asking for this issue to be fixed. There was also cigarette butts on the ‘balcony’. There is parking on site but the 30ish spaces is no where near adequate for the amount of rooms plus events so we ended up paying around £16 in parking across our stay to park on the road alongside the hotel. While it was a Saturday night and there were multiple events at the hotel which is to be expected, there was a lot of noise and clearly no attempt at soundproofing in anyway. So not for anyone with difficulty sleeping with noise. Overall, not a particularly bad stay but wouldn’t be rushing back. The spa was the highlight of the trip.

We have just returned home after a 2 night stay at this hotel and it’s was AMAZING. Staff so friendly. East to park, room was magnificent and spacious with lovely walk in shower. Plenty of room for your clothes. Nice facilities in hotel. The breakfast was so nice, you can have cereal, yogurt, toast and cooked. Lots of teas and coffee, fresh juice. And you can have this from 7am to 11am so a bonus as you can lay in. I have to add that I never lay in at home but the room was so quiet and dark and the bed super comfy. It was just perfect in every way and I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else.

A seriously ice cold pool, with an even colder jacuzzi (no idea how they managed that) but no exaggerating it was VERY cold! The drain that runs around the floor on the jacuzzi was broken; revealing a huge hole in the floor that people could get their foot stuck in as they walk around it. We booked this hotel because of the pool, if it didn't have a pool we would've booked a different one so this was a huge disappointment. In the changing rooms the floor is soaking wet with dirty water that can't drain away anywhere. There's piles of old towels in 2 separate areas. I had to get changed really carefully because every time I moved it would waft the curtain open, the changing cubicle was just shut by a thin curtain that you can see shadows through. The blind in our bedroom was broken, and the air conditioning wasn't working so we had to sleep with the window open as it was boiling hot. The kettle was full of limescale and hadn't been emptied or cleaned from the previous guests. The shower in the room got the floor absolutely soaking wet because it has one of those glass doors that doesn't move. We paid £94 for one night and feel absolutely ripped off. We had breakfast too and some of it was quite nice, the scrambled eggs were absolutely disgusting though and we had stupidly small glasses for the juice so had to go back up a few times. The place is decorated very nicely but it's as though that's all the hotel have tried to get right. Everything else is shockingly bad. Don't be fooled by the photos, we saw the bad reviews and booked anyways because the photos were stunning. But honestly that's the only single good part about this hotel.
