Barony Castle Hotel, Meldons Suite

Lovely comfortable hotel with a very relaxing atmosphere. Staff were amazing, friendly and attentive. There were also a few well behaved dogs which added to the relaxed mood. Make time to have a wee walk in the grounds and see the map of Scotland.

Once again Barony castle hotel did not disappoint!! Love this hotel, the location, facilities, restraunt and rooms but most of all the staff ! Well, the TEAM ! Because that's what they are! Teamwork makes the dreamwork! 🙂 I booked a night here for part of my grandaughters 21st. Noah and his team went over and above for her and she was overwhelmed by the little extras put in place for her. We had such a beautiful time, so many laughs recreating photos from our previous visits and enjoying the facilities. Thank you so much guys ! Looking forward to our next visit. Tracey and Ellie

Very disappointing stay at Barony Castle Hotel. Unfortunately, this hotel fell far below expectations and is not deserving of a 4-star rating, especially considering the price charged. Early check-in was not available, which would have been understandable, however there was no luggage storage facility, leaving us with nowhere to go and nothing to do while waiting. To make matters worse, there was a wedding fayre taking place that we had not been notified about, which made the only seating and public areas extremely busy and limited any space to relax while waiting. The leisure facilities were also disappointing. The sauna was not working, and the pool is extremely small and not what you would expect from a hotel marketed at this level. Service was very inconsistent. While some staff members were pleasant, others were unhelpful and displayed a poor attitude. When several issues were raised, the manager avoided properly addressing them, and there was no apology or meaningful attempt to resolve concerns. Food and drink service was poor. There was a lack of starter options, with only secondary choices available. Drinks took around 25 minutes to arrive, and in one instance, drinks never arrived at all. Attempting to get a refund for these drinks was unnecessarily difficult and frustrating. Cleanliness was unacceptable. The room was dirty, with blood visible on the door frame, items left on the floor, and dirty bed covers. The overall hotel feels very dated, tired, and understated, and does not reflect the price point or advertised standard. Other guests on the same date had all of the same issues. Overall, this stay did not provide value for money, and I would not recommend this hotel. Photos have been included to support this review.
