An Absolute Gem! Dog-Friendly, Stunning Grounds, and Welcoming Staff Our stay at Barony Castle Hotel was nothing short of brilliant. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. It's rare to find a place that is genuinely dog-friendly, and they absolutely nailed it. The rooms are fantastic – spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The food was great for dinner and the breakfast even better. The grounds are simply stunning and perfect for a morning walk. It was a real pleasure to explore the historic surroundings. A huge bonus was discovering the Polish map of Scotland right on the grounds. What an amazing piece of art to have on site! We highly recommend Barony Castle Hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable break.

Can't say much about the hotel we stopped to view the scotland relief map in the grounds. We had a coffee in the lounge afterwards. The service was good as was the coffee. The hotel is clean and appears well run. Would definitely consider staying over.

Stayed for a few nights as working nearby. Long driveway goes to the hotel, quite an impressive building, plenty of parking out front. Reception staff friendly and efficient. Restaurant was always busy, seated in the bar area both nights. Food was good, came out pretty fast. Bar menu and restaurant menu available, both have decent options. Room was a nice, little bit tired in places but good enough.

Stunning location and building was impressive from the outside. Staff were incredibly helpful and there is ample parking in front of the hotel. We ended up with a dated and dirty room, but once we spoke with the front desk staff member, we were swiftly moved to a slightly modern room a few floors up. Neither rooms had air conditioning (we visited in the summer) but were provided with a mediocre and loud fan. Breakfast had an odd arrangement on different days, as on our first morning we were asked to order from a short menu, then on our second day we came down to a buffet spread. Apparently this was due to lack of kitchen staff. The whole hotel was extremely dated, like the lift took a ridiculously long time to arrive. However stunning grounds with beautiful greenery and plenty of local animals. Peebles is a gorgeous area worth visiting if you are coming to Scotland!

Stayed two nights with a large group booking. Staff very welcoming, good customer service throughout. Prebooked 3 course eve meal, all good. Asked for room with a bath and they kindly accommodated giving us a family room. Bath very small though. Bathroom door creaky. Toilet seat loose. Tv remote useless. Mattress not good, could feel springs. Needs a mattress topper. Room was a bit too warm even without heating on although fan provided. It was cold nov weekend. To be fair did not raise issues with reception as previous reviews suggest little point. Would probably stay again if price was reasonable
