Went for the express spa day on Sunday morning with my daughter. Lauren and Pippa did the back, neck shoulder massage treatment and they were both amazing. Would definitely recommend, spa was clean . Steam room and sauna really good and pool lovely

I was asked politely to leave a review by the lady at reception but I did not catch her name, long brown hair. She was very bubbly. I had a very good stay. was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the location was perfect for getting around. Would definitely stay here again!

Usually staying in Premier Inns, we thought we’d splash out on a more luxurious hotel for a change. Little did we know that the Tankersley Manor would be a) dilapidated b) unkempt c) unclean d) noisy e) employing staff that looked scruffy f) closed for drinks when we arrived back at 11.07pm g) have room service trays laying around the corridors from our arrival at 4.45pm until our return at 11.15pm h) have excrement on the bathroom door i) having bathroom hooks that fell of when you hung anything on them j) having no bottle opener for the minibar k) having one teaspoon for tea and coffee options l) have toilet tissue so thin that it took half a roll of waste to get it rolling correctly m) have dead flies and wasps on an unsecured old stone window ledge that hadn’t seen a cloth in weeks n) have laundry deliveries and banging doors below our room (68) from 7.10am on a Sunday morning o) be offered no condiments with the bar meal (pizza was exceptionally good however) p) have a solitary looking dying plant basket with three faded blue flowers on as a welcome hanging basket q) have all the bracketry and irrigation system still hung rotting from years ago when the hotel must have looked splendid unlike the poor excuse for a 4/5 star hotel that tried to charge us through a third party £232 for the room. Had we booked directly with TM, it would have been £280. Utterly appalling. The place needs closing for a complete and exhaustive overhaul. Dirty carpets covered with trip hazard rugs is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Maybe that is what it might take to get Mercure to realise just how desperate this poor hotel is. The manager Gemma Buckingham, was kind enough to listen to my grievances on the Sunday morning and recompensed accordingly.
