We had a lovely stay here for our anniversary. The rooms were lovely and a super comfy bed, all the staff were so friendly and helpful they couldn’t do enough for us. We had a lovely lunch and some drinks and a great time in the spa.

We were slightly concerned with the previous mixed reviews but our experience to celebrate our anniversary was very good. A beautiful hotel. We paid a little extra for a garden view room (the grounds are at the front) and were very lucky to also have a distant view of the city. A very comfortable bed. The website understates the spa in my view, it was a great surprise to find 3 or 4 saunas/steam rooms in addition to the indoor pool and outdoor hot pool/jacuzzi but it was quite busy. Plenty of treatment rooms too with a lovely relaxing area. The location is fantastic with a 15 minute walk to central town via Sydney park which is opposite the entrance of the hotel, then down a grand Georgian street. It means if you're travelling from the East you don't have to drive through the city. The dining room is special but expensive and we were overcharged for the service. We enjoyed the cooked breakfast and buffet fruit, cereal, patries etc and the morning staff were very tentative and friendly.

We had a lovely lunch and some drinks and a great time in the spa. There was an indoor/outdoor heated pool and lots of sauna/steam rooms. Chelsea the spa manager was especially helpful and catered to all of our needs. Highly recommend this hotel and spa and we will be back!

We had a short break at the Spa Hotel, and while the room was lovely and the staff we interacted with were friendly, I can only give this stay 2 stars. Unfortunately, several things did not meet expectations for a property that presents itself as 5 star. Breakfast: Very poor quality, felt like a cheap offering but at an expensive price. In central Bath, you can find beautiful coffee shops serving amazing breakfasts for much better value. Dinner: Again, overpriced and poor quality. The website advertised outdoor restaurant tables, but in reality, dining was inside an old-fashioned restaurant. Visiting in August, I was hoping for a pleasant outdoor dining experience, which was disappointing. In the city centre, there are so many restaurants with terraces and beautiful views. Spa: My treatment was cancelled just a day before my visit, which was very frustrating. Service on Arrival: No valet, no doorman ,just two receptionists, and no welcoming touch you’d expect from a luxury hotel. The property itself is beautiful and has great potential, but sadly, the service standards fall far short. For the price and expectations, I will not be booking again or returning. To make matters worse, on check-out no one even asked how my stay was. Next time, I will definitely choose a small hotel in Bath city centre and enjoy dining outside in the heart of the city.
