About Venue
Once playing host to Henry VIII – now it is your turn to feel like royalty as you cross the enchanted moat in the West Midlands.
A fine example of late medieval architecture, New Hall Hotel, Birmingham, is as majestic as it is magical. It started life as a manor house built by the Earl of Warwick as a hunting lodge in the 13th century, giving it the reputation today of being England’s oldest listed inhabited moated house.
At 800 years old, New Hall Hotel, Sutton Coldfield has a long history of offering exceptional hospitality to discerning guests. This 60-bedroom, four star hotel is widely held to be the most desirable wedding venue in the Birmingham area. This will come as no surprise once you have seen for yourself its 26 acres of richly timbered land, thick pasture and elegant gardens, not to mention the interiors.
Expect crenelated towers, mullioned windows and of course a drawbridge to complete the picture of enchantment that has brought people here for 800 years. As one of Birmingham's finest spa hotels, do not expect medieval draughtiness – New Hall is replete with contemporary comforts, whether it is our indulgent rooms, our spa and health club or The Bridge Restaurant with its 2 AA Rosettes. And those seeking an unforgettable business venue are unlikely to regret the day they brought their colleagues and clients to an event within our walls.
We welcome you to explore and enjoy this hidden gem of the West Midlands while experiencing natural and attentive service. Whether you are here for business or pleasure we look forward to making you feel at home.
Decorated in Victorian bold print, this traditional room retains its original leaded windows. With views of our moat and a peaceful corner of the gardens, The Garden Room is perfect for meetings and is particularly popular for private dining.

Great location and awesome Staff. They were always smiling - Especially the lovely receptionist and the lady at breakfast. Asked for non feather pillows and extra water - it was done without any fuss. Room at times got a little stuffy. And pillow choice could be improved. But the fan in the room was appreciated and nice bathroom. Overall, great stay!

Spent a day here for our anniversary. A lovely location that's preserved the character of the architecture and beautiful grounds. The staff are friendly and helpful. Big thank you to Krystal for an amazing massage. Clean facilities and the Afternoon Tea was fab - freshly made and plenty of choice too. Definitely worth a visit!

We recently celebrated our son’s first birthday In the Great Chamber room. A huge thank you to Isobel, who oversaw the event – she was absolutely brilliant. So professional, friendly, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. Her attention to detail and calm, can-do attitude made the day run smoothly and allowed us to relax and enjoy the celebration. I’d also like to give a special mention to Sophie, who was on hand during the event and was lovely and supportive as well. The venue itself is stunning, but it was the wonderful team – especially Isobel – who made the day so special. Thank you again!

We had a lovely stay at New Hall Hotel and Spa. The massage was so relaxing and the spa itself was a real treat with the pool and steam room perfect for winding down. The atmosphere felt calm and welcoming which made it easy to enjoy proper family time together. The gardens and grounds were beautiful for walks and exploring which my son loved. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The only thing I would say is the food and drinks menu is not very child friendly, but otherwise it was a really enjoyable break.

We had afternoon tea for Mother’s Day and the food was quite poor. The sandwiches had barely any filling. We ordered 2 children’s afternoon tea and yet they only brought out 1 small version of some of the cakes. It wasn’t until we told them that they went and got cakes for both children. The grounds are beautiful and the service was decent but the food was really quite poor.
