Attended a 60th birthday party here and stayed the night. Room was nice but very hot, as on top floor facing the sea. Great view over the bay. Room seemed very dated, in need of some TLC, but comfortable. Shower could do with a bit more pressure but was okay. Unfortunately, lift was out of action, which being on 4th floor, was a bit of a mission. Overall, it was okay.

The staff are lovely for the most part, although a couple definitely lacked in customer service skills. Out room was cold, the windows 2 out of three were broken and on night one I had to fix a latch to stop the frame from knocking incessantly due to the wind and rain. Breakfast on both days was adequate, sparse, and on both days we had to ask for more to be brought out as it was buffet style and thanks to a few inconsiderate patrons taking more than needed and wasting the excess. I'd also say that the choices were limited but the quality of the food itself was great. Dinner on both nights was lovely, three courses, excellent food, service was good and the wine, delicious. The decor and ambience is warm if a little dated, particularly in the rooms, additional heating was needed at times, and all round finishing touches could do with further attention such as bathroom grouting, silicone edges, and such. I would return but would lower my expectations and take snacks!

I attended an evening here to see an Elvis act during the festive period which included a 3 course meal. The food was really nice , better than some hotels I have visited. Service was a bit odd, dont get me wrong they were quick but it almost felt rushed. There was only one lady who I think was the service manager who was really lovely but the rest of the waiting staff were very abrupt and didn't really speak. Just bought food out and whisked it away quickly without a word. Location is great as it is situated above the beach so lots of lovely views.

First time staying in this hotel. Arrived late around midnight. The Night Porter was very helpful and stored my bicycle in the luggage room free of charge. The room was clean and a good size with an ensuite bathroom. The bathroom was also clean. The bath had some chips and damage and could do with replaciing. For £36 for 2 people for one night it was excellent value.

Attended a Whist holiday run by Belmont Whist .Brilliant Whist run by friends Tony and Sandra BEST whist holiday we have been on . Staff very helpful and friendly. We came there in October last year only to find that in the ladies toilets one cubicle was out of order IT STILL IS OUT OF ORDER. This time they were VERY COLD No heating in there Gents as well . The lounge seating area is so dirty all the chairs need replacing. The carpets either need a good clean or replacing they are loose and could cause some one to trip up and injure them selves .Great value for the money
