At Barrelhouse we've always been fond of both these things.

WHO WE ARE.
Inspired by the classic dive bars of the southern states, we've created a hybrid venue that combines the vibe and aesthetic of a dive bar with a good old traditional British boozer. That, with a laid back but smooth style of service and banging music to suit your needs is our winning formula.

Our drinks are famous for our happy hour offering, made up of a variety of £5 freshly made cocktails, spirits, a house lager, cider, ale and wine. We also offer a great variety of classic cocktails, good selection of draught, a variety of quality spirits and internationally/locally sourced bottled beer. FOOD.
Detroit Style Pizza. Indulge in the rich and distinctive flavours of one of America's most beloved pizza styles. We prove our hand-made focaccia dough for 15 hours before baking which makes it super fluffy and delicious. We’re one of few doing this style in Bristol and it will change your life! Our menu is carefully crafted to offer a variety of options that will satisfy your cravings and leave you coming back for more.
Also we offer an old school American Hot Dog Menu, inspired by the traditional American State recipes we have a wide verity of flavours and vegan/vegetarian options are available.

June 2025On the website and on Google Maps it said it's open at 4 pm but the kitchen still wasn't open until 5 pm. I came back home and I have ordered on Uber Eats. The next disappointment: all pizzas on Uber Eats are £2 more expensive comparing with menu on tables in Barrelhouse. £20 for that type of the pizza is ridicules a lot and I don't remember any place where was similar, that high price. The pizza looked small but it was full of cheese and focaccia. My pizza wasn't cut fully and it was split to 4 pieces. I compared my pizza with other pizzas on Google Maps and other people got much better cuts and 6 pieces. Pieces were way too big to eat them properly without making a mess. Grease was absolutely everywhere and the whole box was very quickly full of it. I have been really full after the whole pizza. It tasted good but ingredients were not the best (specially cheese and pepperoni). At this point ignoring not specified time of opening the kitchen, higher price on Uber Eats and low quality of ingredients, I will give it 3/5. However, on the next day I woke up and I felt really sick. It was ridicules heavy pizza and I can't imagine ordering once again and eat all by myself. It is definitely something to share with friends and not too often.
