We came to stay as a weekend away for my wife's birthday. The staff were friendly and welcoming and it gave us a good start to the weekend. The room was lovely, bed very comfortable, with a nice view across the park. The breakfast and dinner were very good, and to our surprise and pleasure there was live music in the lounge. The hotel is very close to the city centre, and not far from Cambridge central railway station, so it's very convenient. All in all, we were very pleased we stayed here. We've previously stayed at the Hilton, I'd say this was better, and the Gonville hotel has more character.

I was lucky enough to stay the night at this amazing hotel in Cambridge. Upon entry I was blown away with the beauty of the place. We were met at reception by a very polite young man who booked us in and took us to our rooms. The rooms are just superb, I stayed in number 5 and all had names after plants which was lovely. Too be honest it's probably the best hotel I've stayed in. Once booked in we had a few local beers at the bar and started to relax. The whole feel of the hotel is one of splender and relaxation. We were later treated to a tour of Cambridge in one of their old Bentley's, the driver Zane was first class and a very knowledgeable chap. Breakfast was excellent in fact everything was. Thanks so much for an amazing stay.

Great location. Parking is expensive but worth it vs convenience for the public car parks nearby which cost only £4 per night less. The service in the hotel is generally excellent apart from the evening meal on our first night when everyone on the local tables complained. The food was very very good though. I am willing to say that they had a bad night and that it would improve. Breakfast is excellent and the service there also even though it seems to be staffed with students who proved to be both polite and helpful to everyone. The rooms are good with a safe and hairdryer and pressing iron . The downsides were the coffee machine that broke twice which may have been my hamfistedness and a few moths (clothes eating variety) which appeared. The hotel reception made a generous allowance to our final bill as a consequence. Breaking coffee machines seemed to be a theme as the bar's machine also died. The free bikes (and helmets) supplied by the reception are brilliant and a wonderful way to get slightly further afield. There are lots of cycle paths and ways as you would imagine in Cambridge. Overall I recommend the hotel and will stay there again next time in Cambridge with my wife. We stayed three nights.

Went for a coffee with some friends at this hotel. Very impressed by it's individuality. The restroom was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean Service from the bar area was polite and professional. The seating arrangements were discreet and chairs very comfortable. Will come here again as liked it's atmosphere
