Helpful staff, everything set up perfectly. Food and drink were much better than expected, commented on by guests as well. Staff did regular checks to see how we were getting on.

Clean modern hotel. Conveniently located on A4233 to city centre, Cardiff Bay railway station and bars and restaurants at Mermaid Quay. Have stayed here several times with no issues. Even got a complimentary drink this time.

Great location with a short walk to Cardiff Bay and only about 20-30 minutes walk from the City Centre. Plenty of parking at the hotel too, so makes for a really good base. The staff were helpful, letting is leave car and extra luggage with them before it check in time and also until 14:00 on the day we checked out (which was at 11:00 - better than many too). We went for a room with two double beds rather than the optional bed settee, but either way the rooms are still spacious. The beds were firm and comfy and the room well equipped and very clean. The wardrobe for hanging clothes is a little small and awkward, but there was lots of draw storage, so not and issue. There's also a safe in the room if you need it. I didn't hear any noise from the corridor or other rooms so got a really good sleep and the shower was also good from power and temperature adjustment perspective. Finally, the self serve breakfast was excellent with all the usual hot and cold options available with attentive and friendly waiting staff too. Porridge, to your taste, is also available on request. Overall, an excellent stay, similar but slightly better than Premier Inn in my opinion. Shame there's not more of them around the the UK; I'd not heard of Future Inn before, but I'd definitely visit any of their hotels again.

Had a great stay! The room was clean, spacious, and offered a beautiful view — perfect for relaxing. The breakfast was fresh, well-prepared, and had a good variety of options. Staff were courteous and the overall atmosphere was calm and pleasant. Would definitely recommend and come back again!

We have stayed at the Future Inn several times. The rooms are a good size, the beds comfortable. Breakfast is always good!!

Handy location, nice rooms. The reception staff weren't overly helpful though. However, the barman/waiter, Mark was excellent and made up for the lack of a welcoming atmosphere in reception

Great hotel, water dispenser on every floor and they provide a glass water jug in the rooms if you want to fill water for rooms. They also left apples in the basket on every floor next to the water dispenser which was very cute. Great amenities included. Our room was big which is not alway common in UK hotels, we had two double beds and they were comfortable. Lots of parking spaces which is convenient, has a few restaurants near it and a cinema and arcade and it's a walk away from Cardiff bay which has lots more restaurants, places to see, shopping, sainsburys and tesco, roses etc TV was old school, so we couldn't watch any movie which was a put off since we enjoy watching movie at night with our little one. Do check Zaika restaurant out of you like Pakistani food. There's another buffet place inside, don't bother going there as the food is below average. Even though it was a pretty busy hotel with lots of people staying, it was pretty quiet. Overall, a good hotel to stay at. I would definitely stay again.

Hotel is a good location for exploring both the city centre and the bay. The on site parking is a plus, however, on return to the hotel one evening, we really struggled to find a parking space which wasn't ideal as we were travelling with our young family. The room was a good size, and it was great to have two double beds. However our room was located near the lifts and there was constant noise from inconsiderate guests all throughout the night which meant our sleep was interrupted. Good amenities provided in the room. Breakfast was decent with a good variety of both hot and cold options. The staff in the restaurant were pleasant. Our check in experience could have been better, the gentleman on reception was not very welcoming or friendly. I had requested a travel cot for our baby prior to our arrival and when I queried this upon check-in, the receptionist said they hadn't received the request despite me requesting this on booking and receiving confirmation. We then had to wait for the travel cot to be sent to our room. The cot was really uncomfortable with a hard mattress and looked worn. Our family had booked two rooms together (Booked and paid for at exactly the same time) and for some reason they had provided rooms on two separate floors, when I queried this, they mentioned something about the party size being different but we were only missing one person from our party and this would have had no impact on the room (Especially as we had paid for a specific room). It was immediately rectified so that we could have rooms next to each other on the same floor, but the reasoning didn't really make sense to us and check-in took unnecessarily longer due to their error with the cot and having to rectify the room situation. We wouldn't stay again unfortunately.

Every morning we were woken by the fire alarm which sounded briefly, which was rather annoying. On our last morning we were woken by the fire alarm at 5am and it didn't stop, so we rushed out of our room to the emergency assembly point outside. There was no guidance from personnel, no one from the hotel was outside with us to tell what was going on. At the reception there was one person. He was frantically trying to raise personnel to come help turn off the alarm. He couldn't reach anyone. After about an hour outside, it was clear that it was a false alarm (we had to inquire, no-one came to tell us) but still there was no one but the one person at reception. We went back to our rooms and tried to get some more sleep. Only to be woken again at 8.30am by housekeeping because they apparently didn't know it was our last night. I expected that they would pull out all the stops in the morning with a team to appease the guests but there was nothing of the sort. This really speaks to the attitude of hotel management. There should be fire drills that test the escalation list and emergency responders. There should be ownership of these failures. Instead, all guests were sent off without so much as an apology. Really poor. Although the hotel building itself is fine as a recent build and the restaurant serves some good food, the personnel lets it down. To be clear, I'm not upset about the alarm going off at 5am. This is a clear sign that the safety equipment functions correctly. My gripe is about procedures, support and care for the guests. We were offered no consolation and had to ask for an apology. They kept going on about that the alarm going off is no ground for any compensation, even though I made it very clear that that's not what this is about. They did promise to improve procedures which, if they actually do that, might help future guests. But it didn't help me and my family who had to travel badly rested.
