The Angel Hotel is one of Cardiff’s most iconic venues. Centrally located and easily accessible, this venue boasts three stunning function rooms that are complete with stunning period features. An excellent team will be on hand to guide and support you throughout the entire journey – from planning right through to the special day itself.
We work hard to make sure that every wedding is unique and memorable as the couple that are tying the knot. Your wedding package will be built with you to make sure that every element is exactly how you want it, with the option to include as many or as little features as you desire. Every request, no matter how big, small, or unusual is always welcome!
All the weddings that take place at The Angel Hotel are catered for by our fantastic Castell’s Restaurant. They serve up high quality and locally sourced dishes that truly make the most out of seasonal produce. When it comes to your wedding breakfast you can take the reins. You can choose one of our set menus, or even work alongside our catering team to create a bespoke menu just for you.
We understand that planning your wedding can often be a stressful process, with all the individual elements that you have to consider. You will be assigned your own wedding coordinator to help you through the process, who will be equipped with a wealth of experience and advice. On your big day, our fabulous team will be on hand to take care of every detail allowing you and your partner to sit back and enjoy your celebration.

Lovely 1 night stay. A small hiccup on arrival (no child bed in room) was addressed and sorted within 10 minutes by the lovely lady at the front desk who really couldn't do enough to help everyone there. She was, i think, the last person to leave and first to arrive as i had a late cigarette and she was there and an early one and there she was smiling. Breakfast buffet was of a great standard and great selection too. The greeter/seater/waiter was very polite and efficient. When we come back will will definitely book again. Although we will pick a car park that's a bit nearer next time.

The general state of the hotel is tired, but it does add to charm of the place. Breakfast was really nice with quality sausages and palatable filter coffee. Service was good. I would stay here again.

We were upgraded so our daughter had her own twin room within our room (Thank you). Bathroom was spot on. All was nice & clean. Only improvements would be a larger TV & air con, (but a large fan was provided & needed - it was rather warm!)

Although I have enjoyed staying here there are a few things that could improve your stay. There are no plug sockets by the bed to allow to charge phones by the beds. The window in my room opened but had no means of staying open therefore I had to find something to wedge it open. Some rooms are on the main road which can be noisy due to being in the town centre, I didnt mind that. The location is perfect to access the shopping centre with loads of restaurants and bars within walking distance. The staff are really nice and helpful.

Deeply disappointing – nothing like the photos We booked this hotel for our first trip away as a couple and were really let down. The room looked absolutely nothing like the photos on the website — those showed new, modern rooms, but the one we were given was old, dated, and felt unclean. There was a large, disgusting stain on the bed when we arrived (photo attached). I asked for it to be changed and although they did while we were out, the staff claimed the stained sheet was “brand new out of the packet,” which was clearly untrue. The bathroom hadn’t even been cleaned properly. The bath was dirty and we both felt worse coming out of the shower than going in. One of the windows wouldn’t even open properly, making the room feel stuffy and unpleasant. The only positive was a nice view of the castle — but even that couldn’t save the experience. We ended up not staying the night and went home instead, just to feel clean and comfortable. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. We are now trying to get a refund. I will be happy to take the review down if we get are money back
