My husband and I had our wedding here a couple of weeks ago. The staff was 10/10, with great and attentive service and attention to detail. I had a clear vision and instructions which were followed to a T, with the staff going above and beyond and actually providing things which I hadn’t expected. We felt extremely well looked after on our wedding day, and couldn’t compliment them enough. The food was outstanding and abundant, being even better than we expected (and we’d had a taster!). In fact, the only ‘complaint’ we’ve received from our guests is that the food was so good and abundant that they were disappointed not to be able to eat more! Leading up to the wedding, the events team (Lisa) was always on hand for any and every query we had. We also got a full body massage at the spa the day prior to help us relax. This was amazing, so relaxing and exactly what we needed. The masseuse was excellent. We stayed at the lakeside honeymoon suite for two nights and the room was lovely. The only down side is that there is no air con. The room was clean and tidy, and the reception staff even came over at early hours when I called to ask for some more shower gel as we’d run out. The grounds and buildings are stunning, which is great for photos. Everyone was super friendly and we had the best weekend ever celebrating with our family and friends. We all had a lovely time and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend St. Pierre for anyone looking for a wedding venue.

3 day break to visit Chepstow and the Wye Valley. Lovely comfortable mattress. Room was the perfect temperature and quiet. Only minor irritations: the sheet was not big enough to tuck in on both sides of the bed, so was always wrinkled and the tea/coffee etc was not topped up each day so we had to ask in reception when we wanted more - they were only servicing the rooms once every 3 days, apparently. They did bring some quickly when we asked, though. The bar seemed rowdy when we were there so we didn't eat in the hotel, but there is a fabulous Indian restaurant and takeaway just 3 minutes away. Similarly, we went out to Chepstow garden centre (5 minutes) for a lovely breakfast each day - we may have eaten in the hotel if menus had been available in the room or online. We used the pool and jacuzzi and steam room which were all good and open from 6am-10pm. All together a great stay.

Pretty good place. Went for a boys weekend of golf. Great Golf Course and a great breakfast. Just a couple of little gripes. The rooms were too hot, there was a fan, but made little difference. The restaurant also was way too hot for dining and breakfasting comfortably. Could've just been because we're in a mini heatwave which is why I said they were little gripes. Bathroom showers are over a bath and are not walk in sadly and pressure was ordinary. All staff we met were excellent and dinner, whilst we had a very limited set menu to choose from, was also very good. Will go back again and can recommend.

Upon check in we were greeted by a lovely friendly member of staff, who informed me that as an ambassador elite member we'd been upgraded to the honeymoon suite for the first two nights of our stay. This was a small cottage within the courtyard, as soon as we walked in there was a very strong musty damp smell, so we kept the windows open all of the time. The rooms were nice, but basic, the ceilings however, looked like they could fall down at any minute, there were papered over cracks and bulges, it just looks like it's not been touched for years, it could be made into such a lovely space with a little thought. On the last night we were moved to room 405, a " Lakeview" room, this sounded like the perfect end to our stay, if you could actually see the lake that is! The tiny window had a massive bush/tree growing right in front of it, so you literally couldn't see anything at all, and it blocked out almost all of the natural light! The room at least had no smell, it was clean and sizeable, the bathroom was nice, apart from there's nothing to grab hold of when getting out of the shower/bath, I almost slipped and fell, but managed to save myself, and elderly guest might not be so lucky, there should really be a grab handle on the wall. The first night we ate at the castle iron grill, we both had steak, which wasn't cheap, and the quality of it didn't really match the price. However the staff were very knowledgeable when it came to my partner's gluten free requirements, but overall it was a poor meal and overpriced. On the last night we ate at the trophy bar, again the staff were brilliant, but the food wasn't, we both had the burger with belly pork, which was pretty bland, and with only child's portion of fries, again very overpriced at £20.00 each. I'd like to say that the staff throughout the hotel are fantastic, absolutely lovely and helpful. Breakfast on the first day was really nice, a good sized buffet with more than enough choices. There was one day when the food looked pretty undercooked, the sausages all looked like they'd just been waved at the frying pan, and the normally excellent bacon was half cooked at best, possibly different chef on that day? Overall the hotel was ok, maybe I've been spoilt in the past, but this place needs a bit of an overhaul to say the least!

I recently stayed at the St Pierre Golf Hotel on the 19th of July, and unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations. While the property itself has potential with its lovely surroundings and scenic views of the golf course, there were several issues that marred my stay. To start, the cleanliness of the room was underwhelming. When I arrived, the room was dusty and appeared to not have been recently cleaned. The surfaces had a noticeable layer of dust, and it seemed like a deep clean hadn't been performed in a while. Another major letdown was the lack of basic amenities. For a hotel of this caliber, I was surprised to find that there were no bins with bags in them, which is a simple yet essential feature that was overlooked. There was also no fridge in the room, which made storing cold drinks or leftovers impossible. All leftovers were had were binned due to this specific issue - I have never stayed in a Marriott hotel that did not have a fridge. The absence of slippers and dressing gowns was another oddity for a hotel that markets itself as offering a premium experience. Overall, I expected more attention to detail and better upkeep, especially for the price and reputation of the hotel. While the location is great for golf enthusiasts, I’m not sure I would return given the shortcomings in both cleanliness and amenities. I hope management addresses these issues moving forward, as there’s potential for a much better stay.
