Black Swan, Event Space

This is a fabulous pub for the family. There is plenty to keep children occupied with climbing frames, swings and a fenced off duck pond. Loads of outdoor seating for leisurely summer days. I believe it has been recently refurbished and looks to be done to a high standard. The price of a pint is quite expensive, however, it it worth it for the location and facilities.

As always very clean and family friendly. Service was good but food was very slow coming out. Food was good when we eventually got it. Highlight is the kids play ground and football field. Ducks and a pond.

So to start I ordered The veggie chicken strips and when it arrived a I was told it was the veggie one and they looked a lot like Regular chicken but I wasn't 100% as I have not had chicken in 6 years, unsure i asked the waittress that brought over the other food and after having a look as i was informed that yes it was the veggie one so conviced I took a bite and was then very unsure about them being veggie, as they tasted a lot like regular chicken even other people on my table also confirmed that it indeed does taste like chicken so again I spoke to the a different waitress who again confirmed that they were veggie so I continued eating and the more I looked at it and comparing it with actual chicken strips on the table which my mother in law had I was fully convinced that they were regular chicken and not veggie at this point I had two waitresses confirmed to me that these were veggie with one of them also telling what brand they were from which after doing research didnt infact make veggie products only the meat ones and so I politely asked the manager just to check herself as I was very convinced as they looked exactly the same as the other regular chicken on the table, in the end I did speak to the manager and honestly she did not seem bothered at all she just told me she would get me a fresh plate of the veggie and when it arrived it looked and tasted completely different from what id eaten b before which means I definitely did each chicken and after this realization my partner ended up speaking to the manager and again she did not see bothered in the slightest and just offered me my money back just for the chicken and they just left it at that. Honestly if I was informed straight away that it was regular chicken I would have just passed it off as a slight mistake and got on with my day but the fact that three staff members either just straight up lied to me or did not know the food very well as there was a very clear difference between the veggie and the not. In the end the staff were polite minus the manager and the area was very nice but the whole food organization was frankly ridiculous. I wasnt expecting a free meal or anything, just an actual notice that they did make a mistake instead of trying to convice me that I was in the wrong. Also I would understand if it was busy and mistakes can happen but was at 12 on a weekday and the place was pretty quiet.
