I visited the bar/restaurant with family for lunch. Its a lovely pub with a good range of vegan options. The staff were were all very welcoming and friendly. I will be coming back again.

I was in The Black Swan last Thursday 5th June. The meal and surroundings were excellent. This review would have been 5 stars but for the attitude of the waitress. She was inattentive and less than friendly to us and the next table. We were never offered the dessert menu and had to ask for coffee. By contrast the young waiter serving a different table was friendly, chatty and attentive. It rather spoilt the evening.

Well, what a fall from grace. We’ve had some great meals at the Black Swan but this was not one of them. Both the service and the food were very poor (especially at £17 for a main course). We won’t be back for a while. The younger staff were really polite and helpful but the manager that day (6th July) wasn’t interested at all when we raised the issue with him.

Came here for a bit of lunch in the garden. Ordered dirty fries for £9.95. Thought it was expensive but must be a decent portion. It came with what looked like a small portion of fries from McDonald’s and some chilli on top. Ridiculous for the price!
